Night time Eating

  • Hey all,
I'm a nightowl so I tend to keep late hours.I find myself wanting to eat..Since I had Digi Cable cut off(was getting expensive and no extra Channels including Exercise/Fitness I had previously with same company)and don't have many local all night stores open that I can take off to and walk/browse other than Wal-Mart Supercenter(would be difficult anyway I have Agoraphobic tendencies which I will add makes losing weight so much harder!)I don't have much to keep me occupied other than reading, cleaning or surfing the net so I head for the fridge.I've got to STOP this.I am definitely addicted to Food and it doesn't matter if it's healthy or unhealthy.I wish I could find something that will totally consume and occupy my mind and time to get me away from wanting to eat when I shouldn't..
  • I eat in the evenings. All I do is account for it in my calories counts. I make sure what I have around is good food. Lots of us eat 5 or 6 feedings a day Some of mine are after dinner.
  • I eat in the evenings too... but at nighttime I keep it to popcorn and apples, or sometimes other fruit.
  • I'm also gonna try to puddle through the social anxiety thing. On the best of days, I was OK at work or in anonymous situations like shopping. I only had trouble in crowds where some of the folks were familiar. But I was definitely trending toward not wanting to go to work or get dressed and even run to the corner store.
I finally had to realise that I HAVE to take my medication and probably always will.
The trick is ... I'm good at home. I have only good food here. I have all the exercise stuff I use right here. I can lose weight no problem if I'm home all day. Kinda like living in my own little fitness bubble.
So for me, overcoming that social thing means also having to learn how to stay "health-wise" at the same time. The temptations are out there with the things I fear.
So I could easily be a very slim and healthy hermit But that's not the way the world works, now is it?
  • LOL Susan... yes I understand! Back in the old days I have actually been known to get into my car and go out to BUY junk when I didn't have any at home! But since I do NOT do that any longer and don't have anything "bad" here... the temptation is not there. But yah... WORK and other places are a different story! The solution is not to avoid the junk but to just refuse to EAT it! Looks as if we are just going to have to learn self control LOL.
  • night time gets me everytime. Try to take your mind off things. For me, i think its the night, because i reflect on the struggles i faced during the day. It discourages me, and makes me wonder if i can really do this. If i take my mind off of the day by doing something really relaxing, i tend to do much better.
