Wave I Starting Monday--????

  • Hi,

I am not new to this sight and really got into the Sonoma Diet in January, then the flu and some out of town trips, etc, etc. and I have gotten waayyy off track. I know what I have to do, go back to Wave I and clean up the eating of refined carbs.

Anyway, Spring is a great time for a new start on life and I really see Sonama as a plan I can stick with for life.

I have 2 questions, and I have the book.

Would it be OK to use peanut butter for the morning protein with oatmeal as the grain?? This is an all time favorite I got from Prevention magazine a couple of years ago.

Also, popcorn is listed on Wave I, as a grain, and it says not to be used on the plate. Is this a snack food????

Thanks, looking forward to being skinny again and getting to know other Sonama followers.

  • Welcome. Glad to have you

As far as the peanut butter goes, if you are eating it with the oatmeal as well as the milk, I would say it would be okay, but I would cut it back to one T rather than two. It still boils down to calories in and calories out, and the oatmeal plus two T of peanut butter and milk would be close to 400 calories. One T would be a more reasonable portion I think since you are having milk. One days you have peanut butter at breakfast, I would not eat nuts as a snack.. have something else. Like some veggies...always room for more veggies

Yes popcorn would be eaten as a snack. yum
  • Yum Popcorn

How much can you have each day?
  • Thank you Linda for the quick reply, I totally agree with the 1T, which is what I usually use! I had the scrambled eggs with herbs this moring, ww toast and am totally satisfied. I have already done an aerobic tape. So far so good, and I have been up 4 hours LOL!!!
