Another Newbie

  • Hi, all! I purchased my book yesterday and, despite the temptations of Easter Sunday, I have started on the diet today!! I have been lurking here for a few days and knew I would need a lot of support to reach my goal; this looked like just the place!

    I am normally a petite gal (barely 5'3") and have been able to maintain a good weight for me when I put my mind to it. Well, for the past year, I guess my mind is gone because I have packed on almost 20 pounds and it won't budge. I have gone through a bunch of excuses, but I think I am just eating too darn much. (NO!)

    Today I have had some Kashi cereal (not bad), walked the treadmill for 25 minutes, and have had nothing but water. My mind is now on lunch and I'll be pulling out the book for an interesting suggestion.

    I can't wait to get to know all of you. Thanks for letting me join you!
  • Yay way to go! The first few days is the hardest as you are making all those changes, but it gets so much easier.

    It's worked exceedingly well for me. I'm pretty much where I want to be now and I just eat the same as the diet says most of the time and then on occasion I get whatever and pay close attention to fullness and satisfaction. I get anxious for the light clean feeling of all the fruits and vegies and simple preparations.

    Glad to have you - and great job on Easter - me, I had a piece of carrot cake. ;-)

  • Welcome! I'm on Day 3 of Wave 1 so I know how you're feeling! Congrats for getting through the Easter candy pitfalls! We don't celebrate Easter so I didn't have any extra temptations. Every day, normal temptation is quite enough, thank you!
