For us 300+ folk i have a question..

  • Dose anyone know where i can find a scale that will support and show my weight . All the ones i seen mostly stop at 300 and i cant monitor my progress without knowing if im loseing or not.. how do some of you go around this thanks
  • I bought my scale at Linens and Things and it goes up to 380lbs I think.
It is a Weight Watchers scale. I even got it on sale. Many have bought their's at WalMart too.
There are many scales that go up to 500 lbs now too found on the internet.
I am sure someone will pop in with the exact location for you. If I find it I will come back and post it. But scales are weighing higher and higher weights.
Before I had my own... I would weigh at a truck stop on one of those scales that cost 25 cents. They also have them at Walmart entrances and at the mall here.
  • Here are 2 that I found with a real quick search. Good luck with your weight loss. You are right, you have to know where you are in order to manage it.

  • Hey thank you guys very much .. But my last weigh in when i went to the doctor was way over 380 .. :-(
  • Moke: There's a guy on eBay selling scales. He has one that goes to 440 and one that goes to 550. You can search for him by user name OldWillKnott

The one is $40 and the bigger one is $45 with $12 shipping. Not bad prices!
  • thank you... yea thats not bad price at all.
  • Try medical supply websites! The usually supply scales for doctors' offices and such.

Within the past 6 months I have bought two scales, both of them rated up to 400 lbs. If you do a google search for "scales" and "400 lbs" (or whatever your rating should be) you will find a whole bunch. Are you familiar with their "froggle" feature? enter the parameters you are looking for and if you "froggle it" you get only products for sale.

I found both digital and analog scales - the analog ones are much less expensive though I just replaced my almost brand-new analog one with a much more expensive ($220 including shipping) two-part, digital one because I live alone and the analog one is hard to read with accuracy without someone elses's help.

    Good luck!
  • i want one of those scales where you can put the readout on a wall it would be so much easier. now i just let my hubby weigh me but i would rather see it for myself lol!
  • Mokster, I got one of those talking scales off ebay and am very happy with it. It doesn't seem so influenced by how I lean. It was one of those black ones from Haddaways.

I'm doing Medifast and there seems to be pretty good support for guys. You could check out their guy forum on their website to see if the diet is anything you might be interested in.

In any event, we're glad to have your company--BJF
  • get a good one
I have gone thru 3 scales, I started at 330 and the scale was supposed to be ok for that and it broke. The one i have now is not 100% right but as long as its moving down, Ill wait till i am at a lower weight before I buy a new one

  • Did I say I was happy with my scale? Can I retract that statement? It has been on the same weight too long!!! How can it be the same number TO THE OZ for five times? Arrgghhh!!! BJF
  • lol it seems everyone has had the same scale problems i have had at one time or another lol
  • I bought one of the scales that goes up to 440 lbs. by OldWillKnot at eBay and it's excellent. The only problems that I've had have been because:

    1) A friend of ours put a bunch of wet towels on it,
2)We had a leak in the bathroom that covered the scale.

I was so upset both times thinking that it was ruined, but it was fine after it dried out. If you get the scale from him, make sure you send in your warranty information in case something like that happens to your scale. The company will fix it for you. I unfortunately, lost my information which is why I was really upset. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
