From reading your post, it doesn't sound to me like you've been very consistent with either eating wisely or exercising. I have found by experience that I cannot eat what I want, exercise and lose weight.
Try a week or two of eating wisely (or heathily or however you want to say it

) and exercising each day if you can. If you can't exercise each day try 3 - 4 times a week. Drink lots of water to help prevent water retention and flush out nasty toxins.
I wouldn't say running is making you hold onto weight. If anything, running is a great means of burning calories and boosting the metabolism.
