Flavor Point. Has anyone tried it?

  • I have tried most diets with little success. Has anyone tried the Flavor Point diet? Can you suggest a diet other that Atkins or South Beach that has worked for you? Low carb diets leave me craving everything. I end up eating more that I normally would.
  • I tried it! I even wrote a review of the book, though I didn't actually try it myself until after I wrote the review. I don't think that I noticed that keeping the same flavor theme helped in the way the author claimed it would, but the food was good, I was always full, and I lost 2 pounds the week I tried it. I followed the sample week exactly as printed in the book. One thing I gained from it was an appreciation for whole grains, lol. The only reason I didn't stick to it longer was because I have been testing out a lot of diets, week by week.

Have you considered the "no named diet" diet? Its the one where you make small substainable changes in the way you normally eat until you get to the point where eating smaller portions of healthier for you foods is "normal".

The problem with being on an official "diet" is that sooner or later, you're not going to want to be on it anymore. Slowly changing your "normal" might not be as flashy or quick in the start, but the long run is what matters. I would much rather lose .5 pounds a week and keep them off forever than lose 1.5 pounds a week only to gain them back with friends six months later.
