Anyone trying multiple things?

  • i recently bought a pilates workout kit that i planned to add to the striperobics i want to do. i feel like i need multiple things to try to help me in specific areas. i need a fun workout to get me modivated to lose this extra weight i've been carrying around since before and after i had my daughter.
my darling hubby tells me he likes a woman with curves and thanks to him i stopped eating the way i used to and have packed on the pounds. since having my baby i've realized how unhealthy i've become and i get outta breath going up and down the stairs
i dont know how to go about dieting without changing my husbands eating habits as he's not to eat certain foods due to his health issues and he's refusing to go on a diet as it is
  • I think it's great to try different things. I don't really do the video thing, since I live with a bunch of roommates. But I took a beginner squash class this school year, and a dance class, and I also go to the gym for the cardio machines & weights. I'm the type of person who likes to try different things rather than sticking with one thing and mastering it, so I will definitely be switching it up a lot.

Good for you for trying to be healthy and true to yourself, even if your husband isn't exactly supportive. I'm sure he will come around if he sees how much happier and healthier you are when you eat better and are more active.
  • i sympathise.

my other half doesn't eat vegies (except for root vegetables) so it makes it challenging for a healthy meal that will satisfy both of us. he is a real meat and potatoes man where as i could quite happily survive on salads, vegetables, fish and lean meats. in the end it meant that i have been sacrificing what i want (healthier alternatives) because it is not what he generally wants. not a way to live. what sort of foods can't your husband have? maybe we can come up with some alternatives for you.

the only way around it for me is to make a general meal and add more things for myself. ie, tonight we are having a chicken pot pie i made and i will steam some stringless beans to have on the side for myself. he won't have them.

or say . . . . . a lasagna. make it as low fat as you can (i use ricotta instead of bechamel sauce), have a smaller portion, and have a big garden salad with it.

i hope this has helped let us know if you need more help.
