Water Intake

  • I bought a 72 oz. water bottle yesterday from walmart, so i figure i will fill it daily and by the end of the day i need to drink all the water. This is easier than counting & remembering how many 8 oz. glasses i drank. 72 oz is 9, 8 oz. glasses of water, i know it is recommended ATLEAST 6 so is 9 too many? Thanks!
  • I think 9 glasses is great as long as you are in close proximity to a bathroom.

I strive for at least 8, preferably more. And if you exercise, you do need more than 6, IMHO. Water toxicity really is not that much of a problem if that's what you're worried about. Your skin will thank you for all that extra moisture, too.
  • Like you, I've found that getting water bottles and refilling them each day makes it much easier for me to determine how much water I am drinking. The only problem I have is negotiating when to drink the water do I don't need a bathroom at a difficult time (like while driving, out for a walk, etc.)

  • RDs and Nutritionists recommend 6-8 ounces a day once sufficiently hydrated....

too much would be if you chugged a lot in a short period of time.
  • Yeah I do what snowgal does and get one of those 32 ounce water bottles and try to drink at least two a day. I find it less scary to know i only have to drink two of those compared to like 8-10 glasses
