Only Tuesday

  • Well, it's only tuesday. I'm so tired. And to think my holidays are only in August. I try not to think about it too much.

Good news is it's looking more like spring these days. The sun is shinning and the days are getting nicer to go walking outdoors during breaks.

I'm also planning on going for a stroll every night with the family after dinner. I know the kids will enjoy it and it's great for them to stay active as well. My oldest daughter is looking forward to getting on her bike again. So tonight, I will try to get her bike out and go for a family stroll!

    Family time is important!

How is everyone doing these days?
  • Well, it must be catching because today I am tired also. Seems like March has been a long month. But as you said spring is here, even in Florida we can see a difference.

We have huge birds here called Sandhill Cranes, as tall as people and they walk freely where ever they choose. They stay in pairs and now they all have baby chicks.....they usually have two of them. It is a sight to see, I love seeing them. They will cross a street and everyone stops for them and also for the huge Turtles we have here, sometime people will get out and pick them up and move them to the other side of the road.......so great to see how nice people can be.

I peeked at the scales this A.M. and up 1 lb. but I know it is water, had too much salty food yesterday. I will up my water today to flush it out.

    Make it a good one.....

  • Doing good here. It doesn't look like spring right now but sure sounds like it outside. The frogs are croaking and chirping and the birds are everywhere. It's suppose to warm up to the 60's by the end of the week.
The boys go on Spring break next week, so I'm hoping we'll have great weather. They start soccer practice this week. They both have wrestling practice on Tues. & Thrs and Lane will have soccer practice on Wednesdays and Cam will have soccer practice on Fridays. They 2 more weeks of doing wrestling tournaments then it'll be soccer games on saturdays.
  • I feel fat today. Maybe it was that ice cream we had for dinner last night. My husband made a pork roast yesterday while I was at work. I don't know what was wrong with it, but the texture of the meat was nasty and neither of us could eat it. So instead, we ate the green beans and then we each had 1/2 cup of light ice cream with a little chocolate syrup, a TBSP of chocolate chips, spray whipped cream and a cherry on top. Not exactly a nutritious dinner -- but at least we ate green beans! And I still stayed within my daily allotted calories.

It's gorgeous here in Denver right now -- mid 60s and sunny.

I like your title for today's post. However, if you want my husband for a few days, you'd be saying thank the Good Lord it's Tuesday and I can go to work! He's still a little cranky from surgery and still a little needy. He called me this morning to tell me that Faith the cat got up on the window sill on our enclosed patio and couldn't get down. Yeah, like I'm going to drive 14 miles home to get her down. When she gets hungry, she'll figure it out -- after all, she's a cat.
  • Phyllis, those cranes sound interesting...I love to nature meets man...if you can, I would love to see a picture!

Francine, I am tired too, but tired is my middle name! I always get up in the middle of the night so all this broken sleep just exhausts me!

Susan, I love your cat stories! I have a cat that is only 1 yr old...she was crawling under the carpet the other day! I guess she was hunting something.

Our eating is so messed up these days... My husband has an auto repair shop and his mechanic quit so he is "doin' it all!" I am not a great cook when I am cooking for only me and the kids...cause they don't enjoy "real" food...so, I don't want to spend time cooking when all they will do is complain. They're getting a little better though. My husband can't stand eating food that is left over and I refuse to cook at 9pm for him...oh well one of life's dificulties!

Try this site to see the Sandhill Cranes.

They are almost 4 ft. tall......they don't have a picture of the chicks on here. They are good parents and mate when they are about 2 yrs. old for life.

  • Those birds are really beautiful. It must be something to see them in person. I can't help but wonder if they ever take to chasing people around. I hope not. I'd be scared! LOL

I went to bed at 8h30 last night. So today, I'm well rested. Much better. This morning I stopped at the bakery to get some bread and couldn't resist the apple fritter. And last night was chocolate mousse cake after Pizza Hut. This must really stop now! If only I didn't have another small piece of cake left. I will try to stay away from it. It's for the girls tonight. NOT ME!

    Have a nice day everyone!
