Has anyone been able to find the whole wheat Boboli or pizza crust to make the Greek Pizza recipe in the book? I've checked a couple of places, but they only carry the white flour kind.......
I saw it in my market the other day, but the calories put me off buying it. Still too high for me, personally. If you go to Boboli.com, click on the whole wheat pizza crust picture you can enter in your zipcode. I found this even though my zip isnt listed.. go figure.
I buy almost whole wheat pizza crust dough in a bag at Trader Joe's. Stretch it REALLLLLLY thin , as in use the amount that would normally make one pizza into making two. I top mine with scads of veggies, homemade sauce, chicken and a very small amount of tofu mozzarella. Yum.
I went to only two grocery stores and was not able to find the whole wheat crust, so I bought the 12" thin. I really wanted to try to Greek Pizza recipe. I love and miss pizza! And it was really good, by the way. But I'm going to try a couple of other stores to see if I can find the whole wheat Boboli. I also like LindaT's idea of using the almost whole wheat pizza crust dough from Trader Joe's.
I use the thin regular Boboli for this one. I know, I know... white flour... but this is "treat food" for us, and everything else about it is so wonderful that I don't want to get too particular. This is a big favorite with my family.
I was over at Walmart the other day and was happy to find these 100% whole grain wraps/flatbread called "Flat Out" (over by the deli area). They say there is no trans-fat in them and you can use them as a wrap, pinwheels, thin crust pizza, or quesadillas. I used these last night to make pizza and my kids even seemed to like them.
