OK this may be a silly one BUT

  • To me it means the world. Thursday for the first time ever I RAN to my childrens school (about a block away from my house to their pickup spot) and I was NOT breathless. This is why I am changing my bad habits! Its not my weight number its the way I FEEL and I don't know how to tell you how great it felt to not only run to the school without being breathless but to also play tag with them in the school yard afterward and KEEPING UP!!!!!

I am not overweight, I am not fat (I hate that word BTW) but my past habits (habits of 7 years) kept me at a sedentary lifestyle; I was doing VERY little activity and Binging at least twice a week, followed up by fasting days, it was really taking its toll on my life and body. So to be able to do that with my kids was amazing. I cried when I got home and realized what I had done.

In February when hubby bought me my treadmill I was winded at 3mph for longer than 15 minutes and now I am JOGGING 4-5mph and it is an awesome feeling

Good luck to all with your goals
  • Well done
  • There's nothing silly about that at all!! Every little success counts. Great job!!
  • that is a big NSV!!! i love that feeling. I can now run after my kids without feeling like I need to sit down after chasing them around the slide once or twice. I love not needing to go sit down after pushing them on the swing for 5 minutes. When i take them to the park, i want to get my turn in on walking around the track while they play or while they come stroll along with me. I am always anxious to get moving. I sit down all day at a desk, so i love when i get an opportunity to get up and move.

congrats on realizing it's not just about the number on the scale but how we feel physically too. Way to go!!!!
  • That is a HUGE victory! I remember the first time I ran to my car in the far back of the parking lot (due to raining) and when I got their I remember that feeling of OMG I DIDN'T DIE - yea!!

    You are doing great
  • Great NSV!! Just think of what a wonderful example you're setting for your kids! Congratulations.
  • congratulations, I know how u feel. When I started my weight loss journey, I was out of breath and could barely walk 15 min's. I am now jogging 30 to 45 min's daily on the treadmill. It feels great to have more energy and be able to keep up with my 13 yr. old daughter.
  • That is completely a wonderful victory. Keep track of your progress with things like that and you'll see with cold numbers how far you've come!

When I started back with getting into shape, I could barely do 5.0 (12 minute miles on the treadmill). Now I set the treadmill to 6.2 and do intervals at 6.8. I'm hoping to be running at 6.8 soon!
  • Silly? NO WAY! That is HUGE!!! Congratulations... give yourself a big pat on the back!!

    Misti
  • Awww thank you all so much!! I told my Sis in Law last night about my mini victory and she is not going to get herself a treadmill too. She is the same as me getting comfortable with life and watching her body go to mush she used to be 120 and is now 145 so she is ready to get her body back in shape as well It feels good to know I motivated someone!

My kids as well are picking up on it. We went to Dairy Queen last night (Hubby bought me a Mocha Moolatte for coming so far ) and my 6 year old said MOM how many calories are in that thing? I told him that I would worry about calories tomorrow and that sometimes you just had to have fun and not think about it.

But thanks to all of you for your kind words!! I can't wait till I hit my next goal of a NON JIGGLY tummy haha...I may not have alot of extra weight but it is ALL im my stomach...and I mean ALL of it is there.

Good luck with all your goals!!
  • Weeeeeeeeeeeeee good work!!!! Soon you will be making the kids RUN HOME!!! haha
  • That is not silly! That is a great achievement! Well done!
