PCOSer here

  • I have PCOS and HATE it. It has caused infertility issues for 3 of my 4 babies. I have had to take Clomid and injectables. I am also now diabetic. I am 5'7 and around 235/240 pounds. I need to get down to 150ish to be even close to healthy. I want another child down the road maybe, but my husband has said we will not risk conceiving with infertility meds again...so I need to get down to a helathy weight. What diets or techniques will work. I am not TTC now...I have a 6 week old and am still recovering from a C-section....but way down the road if I choose to conceive again I would like to be healthy.

  • alicia, I'm really sorry to hear how bad the PCOS got with you
please don't let all this get you down. set a date, choose a diet and exercise program and get with it! to get to 150 you have to start somewhere..
I've been diagnosed with PCOS two years ago but didn't really start worrying about it till March. I starting watching what I eat and getting a 35 min session of exercise 3 times a week in. Now I do Weight Watchers at home and about 45-50 mins of exercise 5 times a week. I'm down about 40 lbs and loosing
Most PCOSers find low-carb diets more usefull in loosing weight because of the whole insulin resistance thing, however, I'd rather die than not eat pasta and bead..lol
I'd be glad to help you out and good luck!!
