Little Things Mean a Lot!!!

  • This one is a bit different... but tonight I had to stop at the grocery store for a prescription and of course there are always a few things to buy that I "need." Well... I got my bananas... and thought... and thought... I have all my healthful food at home so I don't need another thing! Also realized I had a $20 bill I had been carrying around in my wallet all week... didn't need it when I wasn't buying any junk, lattes, or whatever. And as I walked by the Coke machine and of course the huge candy display I didn't even feel it calling out my name... more "yuck" than "yum." Yay!!! Gotta keep this up!!!
  • That is so great dance! I too notice that now I am not buying lots of junk foods and fast foods ...I tend to have more money left over at the end of my pay period!! Which is *ALWAYS* great... and so great that thoes things don't even tempt you anymore!
  • Well I spend quite a bit at the grocery with all the fresh veggies and stuff... but when you figure in that you are not buying junk, it makes a difference!!

Congratulations on your 15 pounds that went bye bye!!
  • Good job Dance. Keep it up!!
  • it's soooo funny you talk about junk food calling out to you. i have bought several chocolate bars standing in line and then it just sits in my desk drawer. i have waaaaaaay too many chocolate bars in my drawer that i am not eating. lol i need to start selling them here at work. lol.
  • That is so great, Dance! I know on this site we're always throwing around the term "lifestyle change"-- "it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change," "you need to make a lifestyle change," etc. But since you not only are not eating junk but not wanting to eat it, it sounds like you've actually managed to make that term a reality. Fantastic job on the 18 pound loss, and I know you'll continue to lose more and more!

At first i felt like I was spending way more money at the grocery store, until I realized I wasn't spending any money eating lunch at the cafeteria, since I've been packing my own, so it definitely balanced out - and any time I feel like I'm spending too much, I just stop and think that I'm worth spending a little extra on! Keep up the good work, dance!

WOW that is fantastic!!! Good for you! Hey yah go sell them tee hee

And Kate... thanks... and make that a 19 pound loss LOL... got another one!!! Yippee!!!

Sierra... exactly! Even if it DOES cost me more I am willing to make the sacrifice if that is what it takes! And since I am making freezer meals my meat is starting to add up in the freezer so even though I am spending more NOW, I won't be when I get lots of yummy stuff in there! Right now a wonderful crockpot meat loaf is cooking... I fix small portions of all kinds of meat and eat a bit of that and a lot of veggies!!! Soooooooooooooooo much better than junk food anyway!! YUM
