I did it! I bought my first new togs today, and YP1 was right, it was fun... once I got past my initial terror that nothing in the store would get past my hips.

I started at Reitmans, like Dee suggested, but their regular length jeans were way too long, and their petites were way too short.

Anyway, this is what I ended up with, after trying on more styles of jeans than you could shake a stick at.



You probably recognise the top, SwimGirl. It's not something I would ever have chosen in a million years, but the nice lady in the shop suggested I try it, and it seemed okay. It isn't black though which is quite a breakthrough for me!

So, I didn't exactly go for anything out of the ordinary, apart from the size, that is. The jeans are a 13 petite--my lucky number. I don't even care if they're cut on the generous side. I just might have to go out and do this again... soon.

I don't want to sound ignorant but don't know what they are. BTW you look great!! Congrats on the new clothes. Cheryl

Oh, dear, Ali -- you've caught the bug, the shopping bug, that is... I have to admit that I quite thought it might happen! I too used to hate shopping, but now that more styles and colors look good, it's become quite the hobby to try on things I never would have dreamed would work before.

Ali - I DO recognize the top.. however I can recognize the style/shape of clothes made at certain stores from miles away. You look GREAT! If those are the jeans I think they are, they are SO SO comfortable! And! I had a pair like them last year and during the summer I was able to roll them into a cuff at the bottom and wear them as capri's, very useful! Glad to hear your shopping experience was fun
