What are those numbers on my scale? Scale + non-scale victories

  • For about two weeks now, I've been wavering between 170.4 and 171.6lbs. Normal fluctuations, I suppose. Last week, I kept my calories between 1500-1600. This week, I switched it up to between 1300-1400. I think it may have worked! This morning, I weighed in at an amazing 169.2. I'm going to wait a day or two before updating my sig with the numbers... but wow! I haven't seen a number this low in... a year. If this is actual weight loss, then I've lost almost the largest amount of weight that I've ever lost at one time before. My "record" is 12 pounds. *talks to herself* Two more pounds... just two more pounds and you can shatter that. *looks around when she realizes that everyone's looking at her funny*

As far as non-scale victories go, I have a few since my last NSV post! The biggest one would have to be RESISTING THE GIRL SCOUT COOKIES! My mother bought me a box of Samoas (my favorite) about a week and a half ago. I promptly put them in the freezer and have not eaten a single one. I see them every day when I pop into the freezer. I look at them and think to myself "These are for a special day. A very special day. Two delicious cookies, just waiting for me when I'm ready."

My second NSV happen a couple days ago. I was wearing some jeans that I bought back at the beginning of January... hadn't worn them in about a week or so. So I'm walking through the grocery store... and they keep falling off my hips! I'd forgotten to wear a belt (which I normally don't even need), so every few minutes, I kept having to pull my pants up! When I bought these jeans, they were very snug on me (even though they're a big, extremely stretchy 10). But now... a belt is necessary!

Speaking of belts, that is my last NSV. I have a large-sized belt that I wear with just about everything now. I'm happy to report that since I purchased it last year, I've gone down TWO notches! I can't help but smile today
  • that is good. that's alot of nsv's you listed there. congrats!!! keep up the great work. we're rooting for you!!!
  • way to go!! i know if i had girl scout cookies in the house (the thin mints in particular), it'd be all over!
  • Wow, Lydia, that's absolutely fantastic! Between the calorie shift and all the work you've been doing what with the move and walking so much... you're really seeing the payoff! I'm very, very happy for you!

The pants and belt thing is very encouraging, too! Has to make you feel proud! Good work, dear!
  • Lydia-WAY TO GO!!!! I'm glad the scale got a moving for you. You're doing an awesome job of sticking to your goals. I didn't allow GS cookies in the house this year. Those PB/Chocolate ones are my fav. Great Job.
