  • I'm loving these little milestones when losing weight. Lately I've been noticing just how much more I can do now, then 40+ pounds ago.

    1. Shave my legs in the tub without getting into all sorts of wierd positions to reach everything. Tummy going bye-bye.
    2. Almost bring my knees completely up to my chest.
    3. I have like 12 inches between me and the steering wheel. No, I don't feel like moving the seat forward, yet.
    4. Have an easier time fitting into places.
    5. Wearing smaller clothes.
    6. I can walk, jog and run errands and not get tired.
    7. I can dance without a whole lot of shake, if ya know what I mean.

Now it's your turn. What can you do now?
  • I can go into a restaurant or bar without having done a reconaissance mission first to make sure I can fit into the seats.

I can watch a movie in a theatre in comfort, and have some "wiggle room"

I can run for a bus and not look like I am going to have a coronory.

I can walk around the swimming pool without wearing a sarong.

I can go to the gym and do my thing, and have people ask me for advice.

I can wear nice pencil skirts and pretty jackets.

I can wear nice shoes now, whoever knew that you lost weight on the tops of your feet? And being lighter means high heels on occasions are not out of the question.

I can shop in about 15 different clothes stores now, instead of two!!!!!
  • Only 6.5 pounds gone but .........I can get on an elliptical trainer for 10 minutes.
  • I'm with you on the leg shaving - I'm always amazed how much easier it is now!

I can sit in an airplane seat without worrying that my thighs are spilling into the other seats.

    I can paint my toenails.

I can bend over and tie my shoelaces without having to sit on a chair and gasp for breath.
  • I can cross my legs and sit that way for long periods of time

I can lift my leg to put my socks on without having to grab ahold of the bottom of my pant leg and dragging it up onto my other leg

The smallest sizes of things in my closet fit now - most everything is too big but I still have a few things I can wear

I can walk the 2 miles I walk on my lunch hour in less time than when I started several weeks ago. I may have to add another mile soon.

    DNR
  • Ditto the crossed legs!!!! My trainer was amazed that I couldn't do that before!!!
  • I can go up stairs without having to stop and take a breath when I only have 10 steps.
    I can complete a 1 hour workout.
I can do the advance yoga and pilate workouts now.
I can cross my legs also for a long period of time.
I can run and chase my girls while in the stores lol.
I can do a complete 3 mile walk on watp.
I am now 4 size smaller and I can now wear a 20 but, some jeans I can wear a 18.
I can now wear a tank top without my arms shaking all the fat when I wave lol.
I can paint my toes nails without my belly getting in the way.
I dont have to sit down or jump up and down when putting my jeans on.
I can now wear those boots that zip up on the side because my ankles not as big anymore.
  • I can walk to the supermarket (a 2 mile round trip), returning with a 25+lb backpack full of groceries, and not be dead on my feet.
  • These are great!! Keep 'em coming!!
  • I can let the bathtub drain out without all the water getting "stopped up" behind me..LOL.

I can get into the mall faster because I'm not so concerned about driving my car around and around...looking for the absolute closest parking spot. Walking a ways to get into the mall is fun and I can do it with ease now.

I can complete my Firm workouts with little to no modifications...these are the same workouts that the little tiny gals refer to as "tough".

I can go out with my husband and friends and not constantly be thinking about my weight...ie: "am I the biggest one in this room"......"are they looking at me because I'm overweight".

Ohh....I can go to an RV show and actually get in all the rv's and campers and look around without worrying about the thing shaking or tipping over when I get in. (We just did this last week). This is kind of a silly one....but I know before I would have just peeked in the rv's instead of actually climbing up and getting in.....I would have been too embarrassed.

We can go to our favorite pizza place: Teds (previously known as "We can't go there because all their booths are tiny"). We actually went there a few weeks ago...and I fit with ease...yahoooooooooo.

I can order scrubs for work and not have to get nearly the largest size they make. I went from 2X pants to just recently MEDIUMS!!

I guess that's enough for now..LOL. Congrats everyone on all of yours...they are all great!!!!

    hugs,
    Olivia
  • I've only lost 43 pounds so far, but now:

I can complete my workout dvds

I'm not out of breath walking from the parking lot to the college

    I NEED A BELT

I can sit on the ground, and put my head to my feet, which I haven't been able to do in YEARS!

I can fit more comfortably in the movie theater seats.

My tummy no longer touches my steering wheel

There's so much more...but this is just the beginning, and I KNOW I'm going to lose all the weight I need to!
  • Great thread!!!

I can walk up my stairs without huffing & puffing.

I can fit into some of the clothes that were tucked in the rear of my closet, everyone thinks I went shopping!

I can sit, get up, sit, get up and not have to adjust my bra!

    yeah baby!!
  • You guys rock! I see myself in so many of your posts. It's amazing how unknowingly things get taken away from us as we gain weight. Slowly we lose ability, health and mental wellbeing. Here's to taking back all that we've lost!!! Taking back back everything but fat that is... LOL :
  • * I can tuck my shirts in and not have to worry about "poofing" them out at the waist.
    * I can wear knee boots (my calves were always too big until this winter season).
    * I can meet new people and not think about them thinking I'm fat (I used to avoid meeting new people, because I thought they would automatically judge me based on my weight).
    * I can go out and dance or sing karaoke without feeling self conscious.
    * I can wear sleeveless shirts (never did before because -again- I was too self conscious).

Basically reading back over my list, I've gained the ability to be me without worrying about other people's perceptions. I've always been an outgoing person around people that I know. Now I'm a friendly, outgoing person to everyone. I make eye contact, smile and say hello to complete strangers on the street or in the grocery store or wherever.
