I once again have red, watery itchy eyes! I think it's Amy's fault!!!! I think she gave this to me long distance.... actually it's allergies. Mom and Dad are coming up tomorrow and staying until Sunday.

Susan, thanks for starting us off this month. I'm continually amazed how fast time is going by.

Oooh, I found something good today. I went out and bought 2 boxes of the WW little cakes. Now, they are a bit pricey. Each box was about $2.50. I splurged and got the carrot cake and chocolate cake. Each cake is 1 pt. Don't get upset when you see that they're small. But, they made a good afternoon snack. I had one of each kind and a cup of tea. If you nibble, it helps.
I thought y'all might want to try them. They also have muffins that are 3 pts. each. I didn't see how much they cost---more, I would imagine.
Tonight I fixed a WW recipe for mac n cheese. It was good and 6 pts. for a whole cup.

Those cakes are so good. I love the carrot. I haven't tried the lemon but want too.

This morning at WW they gave out a recipe for angel food cake mix with just a can of pineapple. It sounded really good. You cook it in a 9 x 13 pan. I think I might try it.

How was the mac and cheese? I love it.

I also found the WW english muffins. 1 point for a whole muffin! I really like them. Hopefully our Walmart will keep carrying them. I found the WW bread there once too and haven't found it since. I really like that a lot also. Very moist. ... Sis

Wow, english muffins for only 1 pt.!!! I haven't seen those at my stores. (I don't go to Wal-Mart.) I'll keep my eye out for them.
I've seen the WW cereal but it's too expensive. I'd rather get Special K.

Susan, I've made the cake with pineapple. It is delicious! Bob and Tim love it. I've even made it when we had company or when we've gone someplace. Hmm. Maybe that would be good for Tim's birthday on Sunday!

I'll need to check out the WW products. They sound good.

Porch is still not finished. Maybe the right door will come in some day. The wrong one had come twice.

Tomorrow is another class at the Y. We're not even sure what all we'll be doing at this one, but we're looking forward to it. Kay and I don't see each other at school since we are teaching different grades this year, so spending time at the Y together is fun.

I need to go to bed!!

Hello again. I received such a warm welcome again a few weeks ago when I popped in, that I thought I'd better fill you in on what has been going on. I had the Roux-N-Y surgery on Wednesday, 3/1 at 8 a.m. & was in my room about 1:30 p.m. that day. Most of what was going on is a blur as I slept most of the day. I did sit up in a chair for awhile, had some jello & chicken broth & walked 250 ft.

Thursday the doc advanced me to full liquids, so I got 2 oz. of food at each meal. Breakfast was scrambled egg, applesauce, Lunch was cream of wheat & cottage cheese & dinner was cottage cheese & applesauce with 4 protein drinks between meals so I could get in my 71-85 gms. daily protein. I walked 3 more time, each time a little farther. On Friday the doc released me to go home, so was back home about 1 in the afternoon.

So far, I have not had an upset stomach or dumping. Prettty much everything I've tried stays down. The biggest problem I've had with the surgery is my throat for the tube going down there & that is getting much better. I have a binder (giant ace bandage) around my middle to protect the incisions. Reminds me a little of wearing a girdle.

My daughter is staying with me Friday, Saturday & part of Sunday until my hubby comes up & he'll be with me on Sunday & Monday. I am blessed to have such a wonderful family.

I'll pop in from time to time to let you know how I am doing & to keep up with what you guys are doing.

Hope everyone is doing great today. Well, I have decided to join curves. I have a free weeks pass and I did it yesterday and today and I LOVE IT! I have already decided to join Monday and get all the measurements taken and weigh in. I am excited! I really think this will help me get under that 200 mark. It's something I can do and it gets my heart rate up and makes me sweat! I think I need that. Anyways things are going good here. Hope everyone has a wonderful week end. Take care..... Sis

Loodie, it's so good to hear from you and know the surgery went well. It sounds like you have a good doctor, you not having any problems. Keep taking it easy and eat everything you're supposed to.

Sis, I know that people who go to Curves just love it! Oh yes, getting that heart rate up and sweating is the key to reving up the metabolism.
I'm very proud of you!!!!! You'll be below 200 in no time.

good morning all

I'm glad to see everyone's seems to being doing great. Last monday I joined the Y and quit smoking again on tuesday. I feel great I only missed last night at the Y I've been going every night after work. I don't do too much but I get on the treadmill then try and do the circuit. Sis, I know what you mean by sweating, I almost broke out in a sweat when I did the cardio programLOL I don't sweat very easily but boy I can't wait 'til I'm one of those lean, mean bodies that are sweating up a storm(I WISH). As I look out the window, we have some of that white stuff all over the place, but it's not too cold. It actually looks very nice. Oh, I've been weighing myself at the Y and it looks like I've managed to lose 1.5 lbs. so I do feel fantastic.

Maureen, you go girl! Wow, keep up that exercising and you'll be lean and mean (well, maybe not mean) in no time.

Sis, I used to go to Curves and really enjoyed it. We joined the Y here when we moved mainly because of the pool and whirlpool for my fibromyalgia pains.

Tina, Tim is getting tickets to a professional hockey game next weekend. He knows about the tickets, but that's what he wanted. It's in Columbus. Tim, Jessica, Bob, my brother, and nephew are going. I'm staying home. 2 hour ride, lots of steps at the arena, and hard seats. Not for me!! I also bought him 3 boxes of GS cookies outside WalMart tonight. lol Bought him a phone card to add minutes to his Tracfone. We went out to eat today at his favorite place (Golden Corral). I think that's about it.

Maureen, too bad we don't belong to the same Y. We could hang out and sweat together!!! lol

Loodie, glad to hear your surgery went well. Hope you get up and about easier soon. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Maureen, 1.5 is great! Don't ya just love how you feel after you've exercised? We'll do this yet girl!
