I'm another person who just saves calories for the evening. It was much easier to work with my normal inclination than to fight it all the time.
That said, if it's really a problem, you might try adding some structure to your evenings. I know that I tend to eat then because it's the only time I'm not running around like a crazy woman. The nights I have class after work I eat much less (and have to remember to eat more earlier in the day) You might try scheduling an evening activity
