I'm back from my mini-vacation to Niagara Falls and, true to form, all my good intentions about trying to stay "good" evaporated as soon as I sat down at the dinner table.

The hotel was beautiful (it was the same one where Marilyn Monroe stayed during the filming of the movie "Niagara") and the view from the hotel Fallsview Restaurant was wonderful, especially when it got dark and all the different coloured lights lit up the Falls (from our vantage point we could see both the American and Horseshoe (Canadian) falls perfectly. The view the next morning was also lovely (and I'm not just talking about the view of the breakfast buffet table).

The morning sunlight glistening on the ice around the falls was very pretty. As for the casino, I did behave there in that I didn't drink or have any snacks.

G won $125 within 5 seconds of entering the casino and I lost it all in about half an hour.

We won, we lost and we won and lost some more and at the end of the night we were down $100, but had a lot of fun!
