This may be silly, but it still made me feel good!

  • So I know this isn't anything huge, but the other day I was with my friends and we were going to buy something to eat and they both wanted Mcdonalds and I RESISTED! I convinced them to go to Subway instead. Now I know it's still fast food but it's no Mcdonalds. This is a small thing, but it's MCDONALDS and i said no! Who ever thought THAT would happen?
  • Yeah for you!! That is NOT a little thing, it deserves recognition for the will power it took! So, you go girl!!!!!!!!
  • That is certainly no little thing. It is amazing when you are able to do that. I always get a feeling of 'power' over food when I do things like that. Food used to control me, and I am learning to take back that control.

Well done! And keep making those good choices.

  • Awesome commitment!!!! I know how hard that can be.

    WAY TO GO!!!!
  • Actually, this is pretty huge! Especially if you are used to having things such at McDonalds! Even if Subway IS technically fast food, it's a **** of a lot better for you than evil Mcdonalds! lol. Great job on resisting!
  • That is something! I know my friends would be badgering me to go to McD and I usually cave in. Great job for yourself and for settting a good example for your friends!
  • Yay that's not a small thing; it's a big one!!! And yes sometimes we need to eat out and even fast food... but it is a GREAT achievement not only to resist for yourself but to convince your friends to go somewhere else! Good job!!! You get stars!

  • Congrats McDonald's is tough. I worked there (and would still be working there if it weren't for my depression/anxiety issues) and although I could easily resist food when I worked, when I wasn't working I craved it all the time. Fortunately after seeing someone drop a double cheeseburger I never wanted to eat those again. It was disgusting. As the patties propelled across the floor they left grease trails. After having to make fries for a half an hour my hands were red, greasy, and salty. Even the frozen fries felt greasy and they hadn't hit the deep friers yet!! It was the most disgusting feeling ever. I never wanted to eat fries again after that.

Just remember that the next time you are forced into going to McDonald's and I'm sure that the salads will look much more appealing to you I also recommend if you're forced to go there that you ask for a classic grilled chicken sandwich minus the mayo and the bun. It's just a grilled chicken breast and it's really pretty good for you. After spending so much time there I learned that it is possible to eat healthy at McD's.
  • Good points! It IS possible to eat healthy just about anywhere we go! Sometimes we just have to work at it a bit more and not be hesitant to throw something out (i.e. bread, etc.) if it is not good for us!
