Hot

  • Weird. This morning I made breakfast, which I don't usually eat. Then after eating it I felt hot, then tonight again just after dinner I feel hot all over. It is weird, not sure what is causing this. Revved up metabolism? It isn't really pleasant. But if that is what it is, I should be happy I guess. Anyone else experience this?
  • How old are you? It sounds like a hot flash...
  • Well I'm certainly old enough for hot flashes, but do they normally come just after eating?
  • I am with great dismay anticipating them too. I understand there is no rhyme or reason for them any time any place and when you least expect it. It actually could be as if I remember from doing a bunch of research I know when I am losing weight My TOM may get harder and heavier with more cramping. and this is all a hormonal thing right now, the fat stores the hormones and as you are losing the fat the hormones will be more prevelant. This is just a guess But I beleieve it does have some thing to do with that. maybe this weekend I will do some research on this.
  • No I cant say that I have had that happen to me.
  • I get hot flashes every once in a while. But what made me really hot (this sounds raunchy LOLOL ) was when I took my vitamin B supplements, for some reason I turned red as a beet and it looked like I had a rash. Obviously I was alergic. It went away after a while, but came back the next day after I took them.

Could you be developing a reaction to eggs? or was there something else you ate that could have caused it?
  • I turn red like that after drinking wine or any other type of alcohol. No I don't think I'm allergic to eggs. I did have eggs with breakfast, but not with dinner and it happened both times. It felt like a reaction to food. Like any food would have done it.
  • There is certainly no rhyme or reason when it comes to hot flashes, everyone is different. I will often get them after having a sip or two of wine or coffee. Sometimes just hot meals or drinks will trigger one other times in the same circumstances I will not get any. My hot flashes will disappear for a month or two, then come back for a few weeks then disappear again.

I will have an anniversary on May 15th, it will be one year since my last menstruation ... we're gonnna have a parteeeee bring on the wine ... But then again I don't need much of a reason to drink wine, eh Leenie?
  • Are you eating foods with a lot of niacin or does your B vitamin supplement have niacin in it? Flushing red and feeling really hot is a normal reaction to niacin. My ex-husband used to have to take large doses for something the doctor put him on. His back and face would turn bright red and he'd have to stand in front of a fan for about 30 minutes after taking it.

I'm starting the hot flashes too, but only at night. I go to bed with covers on and wake up with them on the floor.
  • Yea the Naicine if you are taking a B complex, They used to give that for cholesterol, I have not heard of that for quite a while and Yes it will cause flushing and hot flashes. Not sure of the mechanics behind that one though.
