I agree with BostonGal, one day at a time. Actually, I started by saying, lets see how this goes the first 10 days, I can do 10 days of anything. So I am completely committed to doing this for at least 10 days, strictly according to the diet. Truthfully, the first day or two was harder to stick to - seeing those other foods around the house makes it difficult. But once I'd made it through day 1, then on day 2 it was more like - well I
sure!!!! don't want to have to go through day 1 withdrawal again! So that's pretty well what I've been using - and after 2 or 3 days, it gets so much easier. You start to see those bad foods as "fillers" and junk instead of FOOD. I see my boyfriend eating junk and I just think - what a waste! Also, in my house it just isn't possible to get rid of all the junk, and I am way tempted after I get home from work in the afternoon, so I just halved up the cabinets, and I have foods in my half, and he has foods in his half. I don't even open his cabinets, that way I have no idea whats lurking in there! Another thing that works for me (I know this is getting to be a novel, but hopefully something in here will help you too) is that I make my food meal-specific, meaning if I make enough for 2 or 3 meals (like enough chicken for my tortilla wraps all week) then BEFORE i eat, I put the "leftovers" into a container in the fridge - so there is no temptation to clean my plate, and the leftovers, etc. Or if I'm super hungry when I get home, I might eat 2 Kashi crackers. Just enough so I can tell my belly to shut up and wait for dinner.

You can do it! Take tips from the book, and if you know 4 pm is your bad time, make sure you have something to do every day at 4 - I like to start cutting up veggies and thinking about making dinner, so I am busy, and just by smelling food, I don't feel as hungry anymore. That might not work for you, but keep trying!!! And keep talking on here, maybe you'll find something that will work for you!
