Safeway signature soups

  • Today daughter and I went into Safeway to get some milk, and it was so cold and they had this wonderful soup there called "tomato basil bisque" or something. So we bought some. I hope it didn't blow my diet. Does anyone know what the nutrition information for this is?
  • I found this link, is this the soup you had??

    http://shop.safeway.com/superstore/s...sp?page=recipe

type in: Tuscan Tomato & Basil Bisque in the search, it says it's submitted by safeway...
  • Signature Soups Tuscan Tomato Basil Bisque

This is what it is called, but the nutrition information I found on the site you sent, included the carb count for the soup with the bread. Not sure what it would be without the bread.
  • try typing: Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup
into the search, maybe that's it?
  • Holy Cow!!! That is my absolute favorite soup (pre atkins of course). I am surprised it's not on the label.

You can also call the deli department, and a lot of times they have all the nutritional info in a 3 ring binder behind the counter. See if they can give you the info.

I do know that it's sweet, yet spicy, and i'm not sure if it's from the sugars in the tomatoes or what.. but it so rich and heavenly! I even remember thinking, when I got back on Atkins, that I was soooooo going to miss that soup!!!

I'd love to know what you find out, and if later on I could have a little.
  • mmm, soup sounds so good.
  • Falon, I bought it hot from their deli, so I didn't get a label. That is why I was asking. It was warm, very creamy. I think it must have had cream in it rather than milk. My son said his tummy hurt after eating it and mine did too a bit, so it might have been because it was so rich. I guess if I ever buy it again I'll have to eat less of it. But the recipes I found that seemed similar indicated (by the ingredients alone) that it shouldn't be too bad. There is some sugar in it (it looks like although I'm not sure), but perhaps not so much that it would ruin Atkins.
  • I use a different site to track my calories and food intake for the day. My site says that the soup itself in one cup has 17 grams of carbs without subtracting the 2 grams of fiber. It has 8 grams of sugar, 3 grams of protein and 26 grams of fat with 14 of those coming from saturated fat.
