I am such a good girl

  • A co-worker e-mailed that she had birthday goodies to share. I poked my head in, said "Happy Birthday, but I can't even look at your goodies," left and went to the coffee machine, where I treated myself to some vanilla decaf. I'm now eating my preplanned Weight Watchers lunch, complete with 3-point blueberry muffin. Are you proud of me or what???
  • Definately a NSV!
  • Good for you! Snap snap!
  • Way to go!
  • Good girl
You don't need it. Like I've said on several posts before, I give myself one "wild card" per week to use on whatever I want. Hamburger, Taco-bell, Dessert... but you only get one. And lately, now that I've been doing the diet thing for several weeks, I find most of my wild-cards a big disappointment.

So now it's even easier to pass up on birthday-cake and stuff, because it just doesn't have the orgasmic sugar-rush quality it used to when I was addicted to sugar-carbs and red meat. I'm not a vegan by any stretch of the imagination, but when I more or less stopped eating red meat in favor of chicken and fish 7 years ago, I never went back. One time, I decided I'd have a mushroom swiss hamburger (one of my favorites) and all I could think while I was eating was, "This is it? What a waste. For some reason I thought this would be really good, and here I'm eating 500 calories and 32+ grams of fat for this lousy letdown."

So, don't worry - it won't be a challenge to pass up on that stuff forever! But in the short-term - good job!

  • It always feels good when you resist temptation.

Back in January it was my birthday. Usually when it is someone's birthday we have cupcakes, so we compromised for my birthday. My co-workers had the cupcakes and they brought me a WW chocolate fugde cake. It was nice to beable to participate in the office tradition, without blowing my points.
  • Hooray, Thinfor 5 minutes!

ChibiSam, that's great that your coworkers cooperate. Some people work with saboteurs.
  • It can be hard when people who are suppose to support you actually try and get you to splurge. For the most part the people I work with are supportive. I have found that the more someone trys to get me to eat something I don't want, the easiser it is to say no. I get stubborn after a while.
  • thin for 5 minutes you did great, it is so nice when you are on control, way to go,
