This turned out good!

  • Following P1 menues in the book, second time on SBD. Last night was supposed to be broiled steak, broiled tomatoes, steamed broccoli and South Beach mashed cauliflower. Hubby was never too thrilled with the cauliflower puree, and since it was quite cold last night, I took the ingredients and made vegetable beef soup (I'm also not so good at making steak!)
I cut the sirloin steak into strips and sauteed with onions and garlic in Pam. Added canned diced no-sugar tomatoes, threw in some canned mushrooms, chopped celery, a beef bouillon cube, water and broccoli and cauliflower florets. Some fresh oregano, some red pepper flakes - South Beach stew! Was yummy! Just a little left over.
  • Sounds delicious and creative!

Just watch the bouillon cubes...they often have sugar, MSG, and partially hydrogenated oils. You might be better off just using canned beef broth. If it did have sugar, watch for cravings and start P1 over if you have to, okay?
  • Sounds like it would be pretty good. I hate veggies so maybe this would be a way for me to get them in! Thanks for this.
