Velveeta

  • Is the rf velveeta allowed? Thanks for the help!
  • Good question - my first reaction was no, but after searching for and looking at the ingredients, it doesn't look too bad. The fat content is a little high though. Here's the product info:

  • Well, if it's 3 grams or less of fat per ounce, it's OK so Velveeta Light at 3 grams is OK. Here's the nutrition info. The link above is for regular.
  • Thanks for all the info! I'm going to post a shrimp/pasta bake recipe using the rf velveeta. It is wonderful!

    Thanks again!
  • Light has some extra stuff that may be a no-no if you happen to be sensitive to them such as maltodextrin and cornsyrup:

It's always the quandry for me - fat vs additives the lesser of two evils...
  • I asked this question before and was told to use the regular stuff, but don't make a habit of eating it all the time.
  • I have used both the regular and the light in the Broccoli Cheese Soup recipe. There is less "stuff" added in the regular but for my family we usually go with the light. It's not something I use often but it sure made the soup taste great last night!
