    Fat Loss Range: 2120 - 2120 Calories/day

I was planning to follow a 1200-1500 calories/day for my fat loss range. Do you think that's too low?
  • I don't think that's too low. You should probably stick closer to the 1500 cals though.
    Good luck
  • Wow
Wow I just did one too. I also just read an article. It says you shouldnt go down more than 1000 cals below your TMR(Total Metabolic Rate) or simply put, your cals to maintain. I'm 21, 189lbs, 5'5", and I'm gonna try for 1400 a day.
  • It's not too low for your body, but it might be for your mind. I've heard it recommended on here again and again that it is easier to start higher and drop lower. At first it's very difficult to get all your nutrients and healthy foods in your calories. If you think you can stick with it than go for it, but it should be a range you are willing to eat the rest of your life not just a low count so you can lose weight faster. If you don't have much of an appetite though, and don't think it will cause you to binge, go with whatever you feel the most comfortable with.
  • I like the 12-1500 range for you. Even if you have trouble sticking with that, you know you have the comfort zone of up to 2120, right? No harm done if you have a few sip ups and end up averaging 1800 or so.
The nice thing about health is that we have our whole lives to work at it. (I've said that before, I know) We've all tried a few things before we hit on what's working right now.
  • 151 calorie deficit per day? That would take like 23 days just to loose a pound! Am I reading that right??? Um, I don't think going lower than that will be a problem at all.

I tried the 1200-1400 range to begin with and found that 1600 was better for me. You might do better but it won't be a bad thing if you find it to low to start with. We all have to find our groove, like Stella, and we're all a little different.
