  • Morning all. It was a rough weekend, knew it was gonna be. The weekends are rough right now just because of everything going on. Feeling lots better and am gonna get in some exercise today. YEAH! I'll check back later and do personals.

    Well, the weekend was ok. Made a bad choice and had tostito's w/dip last night. ARGH! Well, it's the only setback I've really had so I'm considering myself still doing ok.

    Those "fat calipers"....are those the things they use in school? Not sure what they're using to base their "fat" on but it isn't working because they told my DD (she's 13, in 8th grade and not even 100 #'s yet) that she needed to lose weight. I told her to go back and tell them they're nuts. That she can't lose weight! I even can get a doctor to verify that as she had just gone to the doctor a few days prior and HE said she needs to GAIN weight!!! ARGH! No wonder kids in school get eating disorders (yes, I know, it's not the ONLY reason..but it doesn't help, that's for sure!!)!!
    On another note...I didn't buy anymore cappuccino. I bought a couple 2 litre bottles of dt coke and I'm going to have small glasses to wean myself off caffeine so that I drink more water. That's the plan anyway. If I don't have it in the house I don't drink it (soda and cappuccino that is ). So we'll see how long I can stick to the plan.

    Im still sick, I guess its a cold, but I dont have the cough yet. Dh looked about his worst yesterday, so hopefully he is on the up swing. Not eating properly when you're like this doesnt help either, sick and carb hangovers. But sometimes, just toast is all you want. I really can't stomach an egg

  • Poor Robin! At least get some low-carb bread so you don't have the double wammy of illness and sugar overload. Some green tea. Broth. (((hugs)))

    Brenda: did you have some bad carb hangover after eating the chips? Sometimes I open the bag and just inhale deeply to try to remember what they tasted like

    Tenn: I never told you how nice it was to have you back!!! You were missed and thought about lots

    My day is going ok, dh and I have been arguing a lot and I wish I could change that, I just never feel like I can do anything right with him. I walked a little over 3 miles today and have been eating well so far.

    It is SOOO tempting to step on the scales to see if I've lost anything in the last few days but I'm trying to break the scale addiction I have and won't weigh until the 1st

  • Hi everyone! Brenda, next time try Atkins Crunchers Chips. I put them on a paper plate, cover them with shredded Cheddar and melt it in the microwave.

    DH called -- his sister Mary is about 7 months along in her pregnancy. They just put her in the hospital and plan to take the baby in 10 days. It will only be about 1 or 1.5 lbs and will have to be in neonatal intensive care until the gestation period is up. She lost her last 4 in her first trimester, so at least she got further along with this one.

    His kid sister is also in the hospital -- but he wasn't sure if she had meningitis or mono -- he didn't get the whole story. She just turned 14 last week.

    Hi everybody-thought i'd pop in a say HI. I officially completed a whole week-woo hoo. I sooooooooo wanted to snack on carby stuff this weekend but held my ground. I wieghed myself yesterday and -10 lbs. Now that is incentive to keep going, I did think about rewarding myself with something decadent but how smart is that?! lol

    Susan, I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL, that's just so sad. I hope she'll be able to go long enough for the baby to be well, and I'll sure pray hard for them.

  • Susan my heart felt wishes are going out to your family right now. DH must be just going off the wall. Will be praying for your SIL and the baby.

    Speaking of panties I had a huge laugh yesterday as I was doing the orders for the next month. (In the NH I must go over at the end of the month all my residents orders and make sure they are right a tiedious job but much needed for safety) well I glanced up at the medical record for the medicines and our pharmacy will add precaurions and side effects of many of the drugs (state mandated) and well I got laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. written on one of the cough medicines with codiene was WEAR COTTON PANTIES!!!

    what does that have to do with any thing I call ed the pharmacy and they copuld not figure it out. yeast is nt a problem with cough medicine, and what if it was a guy?? would it say the same or reccomend boxers or briefs??? I still can not get over it!!

    Hi Everyone !! It's been a few weeks since I have posted. I had a major lapse in loosing due to an evening out with Amaretto Sours. Definately took me out of Ketosis. I hardly ever drink and this sure confirmed that I don't want to again. But I am finally down another 5 pounds, so I had to step in and change my ticker. I'm am trying to figure out my triggers to stay on the loosing end. I "think" my inconsistant work outs have had the biggest effect and maybe a lack of veggies. I'm going to see my daughter in college on Feb 18th I sure would like to be down another 5 pounds by then and hopefully be able to buy some new jeans.

    I was good yesterday. Did 15 minutes aerobics instead of riding the bike last night along w/my 30 reverese crunches. Today is gonna be a long day. Youngest dd is sick. She woke up this morning w/body aches and throwing up. I'm gonna plan on getting some bike riding in tonight and reverse crunches. I got in 150 ozs of water yesterday. I can't believe that I drank that much. LOL I was in the bathroom a lot. LOL I feel a lot better after the weekend I had by drinking all that water.

    Brenda~ I can't believe they said that about your daughter. I hate that when they do this to kids especially as they are developing. I wish they would work on teaching the proper things to eat and workout ideas instead of oh you need to lose weight. I have concerns for my 9 year old, but yelling at her and telling her she is fat isn't gonna help. I have to lead by example. I'm just frustrated hearing that bit of info.

    Lacey~ Sorry things are rough w/you and dh right now. I hope they get better soon. I was checking out your blog and realized that we started our journey about the same time, give or take a few days. What I am wondering is that you have been having a HUGE success at losing, what are you doing? I have only lost about 25lbs since July 25th'ish. You are doing remarkable and I would love to hear some of the things you have been doing.

    Susan~ My thoughts and prayers are w/you and your dh's family. Keep us informed as how they are doing.

    Canne~ Way to go on being at this a week. Sometimes that is the hardest part of this whole journey. Way to go!

    Sue: I have to laugh at your avatar.....Madonna. I've got to tell this funny story. I decided to get a new "sexy" bra (as in....not a sports bra). So I go to Wal-mart...pick one out I like, get it home....put it on yesterday morning and danged if I didn't look like I had "Madonna cones" Told DH that was the 1 and ONLY time he was going to see me in THAT bra!! I took it off and he's like "hey! There's my wife's boobs--not Madonna's"

    On a good note: didn't have cappuccino yesterday and I exercised...bad note is I didnt' get nearly enough water in I don't think. Well, today's another day. But unfortunately a busy one so it'll have to be H2O on the go (ok. as I drink it really IS on the go ) sorry about that...I'm in a weird mood Ok. Time for me to run! Sorry no personals--I'll catch up (hopefully) tomorrow!! everyone

    EZLoper: I hear ya with those yummy drink, girl...they are EVIL!!! BTW, is it ok to ask what size you're wearing now?
    I ALMOST weigh the same by a few pounds and I wonder what size people wear at this weight I'm wearing 14's and some 12's...

    Becka: You sound like you're doing awesome!! I honestly don't feel like I'm losing enough either!! I don't have many secrets, but I got some wonderful information that encouraged me to start a journal that I 'think' Robin gave to me. If you want me to send it to ya just pm me your email. I also have pictures of my virtual self at all my weight goals on the back and mark when I hit each goal...then have each monthly goal on the inside that I mark when I hit too.
    But I'd have to say that the #1 thing for me is my walking. I try to get in at LEAST 3 miles every morning before everyone wakes up. Back surgery 8 months ago has prevented me from doing anything strenuous, but walking is truly anything that anyone can do. And when it's too cold, etc, I have an old treadmill out in the garage that I use


    I cheated and weighed this morning and I've only lost 2 pounds, but I won't complain, it's much better than gaining 2 pounds!! My birthday is March 17th and I'm going to set some kind of goal for my birthday...like a 'gift to myself'.

    Busy day planned for today, hope y'all have a great day!!!
