Lost 8 pounds Weight Watchers

  • Okay, I have a total of 150 pounds to lose, but I have now lost 8 towards that goal. I have to look at small segments. It will be a long term project. My goal is to exercise 5 times a week. I have started that, and already feel better.

I attend Weight Watchers meetings. Anyone else on WW?
  • I attend ww, my weight loss has been pretty slow- 5 lbs in 3 weeks! Was hoping so see a quicker change- but i guess a little is better than nothing! Keep up the good work!
  • A loss is a gain!!
I was off to a slow start too. I started just before the holiday and actually gained 3 pounds. So a few weeks ago I determined to stick with the program and exercise. I have lost 8 pounds in that time.
    We can do it!!

I am now writing down everything that goes in my mouth.
I am going to the gym 5 days a week.
Those are my 2 biggest goals.

I like Weight Watchers, because of weekly weigh-ins and group support.
And, there is no particular food I have to have or cannot have, as long as it is balanced and within the points.
    I like that.

For lunch I had 2 oz corned beef, 1 oz swiss cheese & lots of sauerkraut (I love sauerkraut). I get Eden's organic sauerkraut, which is wonderful.

For dinner we are having stir-fry.

I allow myself one snack before bedtime, because that is the hardest time for me.

Let's stick with this thread and encourage each other - okay?
Right now, my husband and I AND our dog are all on a diet.
  • Hi. Monday will be my first official weigh in at WW. I hope that I will be able to lose at least 2 lbs. Congrats on the 8 lb. weight loss. You can do it.
  • Good for you!!!! Sometimes my weight goal seems so far away. Just can't lose weight as quickly as I used too. I am counting calories and for the last two months the range has been between 400 and 1200. Sometimes I just don't want to eat. I have been told that you have to in order to lose weight. Anyone else have any problem making yourself eat?

I also just joined a gym and my goal is to go to the gym 5 days per week.
  • I really miss having a gym nearby...........sniff sniff....

I do have a treadmill that i use on a regular basis and at the school I teach at we have a sort of mini-gym that i use once a week. My goal is to do some sort of cardio workout 5 times a week in addition to the DDR I do with my son. Today i actually ran for 5 minutes in a row! I know it doesn't sound like much but for me it was a huge accomplishment! I'd really like to run a marathon someday!

For breakfast I had a toasted english muffin with an egg on it and a two pieces of extremely crisp bacon- 7 points

For lunch i'm having a salad with a 1/2 can of tuna on it - 4 pts

    For supper- not sure yet!

Keep up the good work ladies!
  • Fost40 - Weight Watchers is a very good program. Congrats on making the decision!

Susie, be careful about running. Especially when we are heavier, it is very hard on the knees. I used to love to run (when I was thin) but I can't do it now because of my joints - for me it is a combination of weight & connective tissue disease. I can walk and that is wonderful. IT's also enough.

If you like to run, you might wait until you lose a few more pounds - just to be on the safe side. You don't want to end up with chondromyalgia where your knees sound like rice krispies.
  • I only run for very short periods of time and alternate with periods of walking. I need the intensity of the workout because I have very little time to actually work out in! I also do pilates and yoga that keeps my muscles strong and flexible! so far so good!
  • Hey guys...I don't do WW, but FYI, there is a whole WW group here at 3FC...http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2
  • Hey Surf,

I also have a hard time making myself eat. I think for me it might be because food is an addiction. I really am addicted to it! If it was something I didn't need in my life I don't think I'd have a problem kicking the habit. But, the thing with food is that you need it, and you need it a lot throughout the day. That makes it rough.

I know that I need to eat an appropriate amount of calories, but there's this fear that is always hanging around in my head, "What if I go overboard and can't stop eating!"

For me, this is a difficult thing. I understand what you're saying. Anyone have any advise as to how to get this fear out of my head??
  • I have been doing WW for over a year and *m
love it. I hit Lifetime in December and am working part-time for WW now as a meeting receptionist. I love WW as I had NO idea of portions before and now have a much better grasp on being accountable for what goes in my mouth.

Good luck!!! You can do it.

  • WW groups
That's wonderful Mellissa! I don't even know what being a lifetime member is yet. Do you still pay weekly?

Right now, I figure it will take me a year and a half to lose the weight I need to lose. But I am going to do it!!

I am going over to look at that WW group...

    Thanks everybody!!
  • Lifetime means that you have reached your *m
goal weight and maintained it for 6 weeks. You don't have to pay any weekly fees unless you go over your goal weight. As long as you maintain your weight then you don't pay anything. And if they ever change the program you get all the new materials for free. It definitely is worth making Lifetime. It was never in my plans until I hit my personal goal (20 over what WW said I should be) and knew I still had weight to lose. Very empowering to know that I attained a goal that I never even set out to do because I thought my original goal was hard enough.

Best of luck to you. It took me almost 14 months to lose mine. It was perfect though cause it taught me how to keep it off forever and things about myself that I never knew.
