i'm lovin' it!

  • i recently bought a stability ball and was just trying to use it on my own, which wasn't happening. i was trying to look at images from the net and copy them. i'm not that talented. & the video that came with my stability ball isn't really the best. grainy and short and moves way to fast. it reminded me of a bad '70's porn.

so, i went out and got "stability ball workout for dummies" with liz gillies. i've completed the workout five times now and i can REALLY feel it in my body. i'm exercising muscles i forgot i had. it's a 45 mintue workout but it really doesn't feel like it because you're doing 15 different exercises, plus warm up and cool down.

& just to let everyone know, I ACTUALLY SWEATED while doing this workout and it got my heart rate going. i can't recall the last time i actually sweated while working out. she's clear, she goes slow, she reminds you to breathe, they have variations for exercises (either easier or harder). i think it's a great place to start if you have a stability ball and don't quite know what to do with it.
  • Glad you're enjoying it so much!! I don't have this dvd, but I love my stability ball as well. I do my "own moves" on it as well as use it for certain dvds like Denise Austin's Shrink Your Female Fat Zones.
  • thanks for the recommendation. I just reserved this dvd from our public library! Yeah!
  • I did not like this specific video and gave it away, but I LOVE quick Fix Stability ball workout. You might look into it as they also have beginner/intermediat/advanced modifications for the moves. It is 3-10 minute workouts broken into upeer body, lower body and ab training.
  • When I first got my balance ball, I could barely get my legs in table top to do the Gaiam Beginner's Balance Ball workout but boy, did I see improvements in my abs and back just from doing what now I consider my most "kind and gentle" workout! I've now moved on to Gaiam's Balance Ball for Weight Loss which is a great 45-minute ball workout that works every part of your body. I don't have the Quickfix DVD that's ALL stability ball, but I do have one of the 10-minute stability ball workouts on my Quickfix Total Mix DVD.
