I am very new to the TOPS message boards and just wanted to ask what eating plan that you are following. I am doing the exchange plan. I enjoy the support here.
Please share.
HI Sadie and welcome! I just want to say that you need to follow what ever plan works best for you. As soon as you find it, you will know!
Some of us are counting calories, doing sugar busters, exchange program, ww point system, and just watching what we eat. I hope the exchange program is working out for you !! take care Penny
I Somersize which is basically restricted carb food combining. I eat all the food groups, I just eat fruit alone, and don't eat proteins/fats with carbs. Veggies go with carbs or proteins/fats.
I also don't eat sugar or wheat but the wheat is because of an allergy.
Thanks for all the responses. Yes I like the exchange plan. It is good to know what everyone follows as it helps when offering support and sharing ideas with one another. Whatever works for each of us is the bet plan to follow. Keep up the good work gang!!!
I am trying to do a balanced diet and eat less and move more. But lately have been eating more and moving less. That does not work. But I am slowly getting straightened around
I have tried a lot of different things as well. But I am back to the WW123 plan. Of course as of dec last year they came up with a new plan. But I have never been to a meeting and I have all the info for the old plan and I did lose 30 lbs doing it. It was the only thing that made me lose weight. So I am back on it again.
The only advice that I can give you that the others didn't. ( I also agree with what they said). Is that once you find something that works don't change it for the world. That is what I did. I have gained back everything that I lost over 2 months it was 10 lbs. So I am back to week 2 of the WW and I had a great 2 3/4 lb loss last week.
So even if you have weeks that you gain and you will don't give up your plan too quickly. I learned the hard way. But like penny said once you find what works for you you will know.
And not every plan works for everyone either. As you can tell because we are all doing different plans. But we are all going through the same things everyday. It doesn't matter what plan you follow as long as it works and it is healthy for you.
I'm not sure what plan I'm going to do. I don't have enough money to join WW, though I have heard good things about their program, esp. the current one (the "points" system)
Right now I am doing a "plan" which I have executed in the past, which is as follows:
Breakfast: 1 protein + 1 carb, or 1 large protein (like a filet of fish -- no, not McDonald's, LOL!)... sometimes I have cereal, but it's with soy milk (soy protein)
Snack: handful of raw veggies
2nd Snack: some more raw veggies
Lunch: 1-2 carbs + dairy or soy equivalent, or large salad, or equivalent... I usually have a sandwhich or a veggie burger/tofu
Snack: fruit
Dinner: Depends on who is cooking! If it's me, usually one to two servings of vegetables, a carb, and a protein. If it's my boyfriend cooking, usually a protein or some sort of dairy. He likes starchy vegetables like potatos and corn, though, so sometimes we "fend for ourselves"
I just try and eat in moderation, and make sure I get enough water. Right now I'm trying to "train" myself not to "pick, pick, pick" after dinner (a habit I "picked up" -- LOL -- from my dad). Also, my boyfriend likes to eat junk food, and is more than able to, considering he is so tall and thin. So I'm also trying to exercise constraint in not eating whatever he's eating -- we have different body types, and thus, different needs.
