Doing this again...

  • I did South Beach in 2004 and lost a lot of weight - also saw my blood pressure go down. Then Hurricane Ivan came to northwest Florida and we all lived on MRE's, then it was the holidays, then Hurricane Dennis and then after the last holiday season I tipped the scales at 160!
I got a free account at another diet site, but their diet has a lot of starch in it and I always seem hungry. So I decided to swim back to the beach. Except this year I'm not following any recipes that call ofr salmon roe - I don't have a cardiologists's food budget!

  • Glad those Hurricanes finally blew ya back to the Beach GBGirl!!!

Yeeek! Salmon eggs.. Thankfully the beach babies have contributed a ton of recipes that while not egg free are fish egg free!
  • Michele,
I can really relate to what you have gone through. I was doing so well this past summer on the beach until Hurricane Katrina blew me off the beach! I evacuated to Houston and stayed there for 3 weeks so I didn't live off of MREs. Those things are tasty but full of fat and carbs! Soldiers need them but they are death to South Beachers!

Well, it took 4 months but I've shaken the sand out of my beach towel and I'm back. There are lots of great recipes that help you stay on the beach without using expensive ingredients or lots of time to prepare. Search the web. If you know the basics of SB, you can find recipes that fit.
