Magazine and cookbook recommendations

  • Hello - just wondering what magazines and cookbooks fellow WW'ers like to use

    Some of my favorites:

    WW magazine (of course )
    Cooking light magazine
    Vegetarian Times magazine
Prevention Magazine special editions for Diabetic Cooking

    WW Take Five cookbook
    WW Take Out Tonight cookbook
WW Slow Good cookbook (for slow cookers)
    Vegetarian Times Cookbook
    South Beach Diet Cookbook

    What are you favorites
  • I have a few books that I use (Rachel Ray -- Easy Dining -- other no name ones) and I tweak to be WW friendly:

    butter=margarine
    whole mile=ff milk
sour cream=rf or ff sour cream

etc...just made a recipe for beef stroganoff like this and it was just as yummy!
  • Anyone else have any favorites to share?
  • I love Pampered Chef and they have a cookbook called It's Good for you. Everything is low fat and low cals. They give all of the nutrition info so it is easy for me to figure it out. I made a Teriyaki pork stir fry and it was GREAT!
  • I collect all the Cooking light books. In addtion, I like Eating Well and Chef's Cuisine for recipes. I have the Good Carb Cookbook. So far everything I've tried in this book has been delish!

I read cookbooks like novels, so many of mine are not "weight watchers" friendly, but I modify.

  • Looney Spoons, Crazy Plates, Eat Shrink and Be Merry- These three books are my new Bible!
  • susie - I was given Eat Shrink and Be Merry for Christmas. I'm actually from the same city as the authors - their books are great!
  • I got eat shrink and be merry for christmas....LOVE IT!
  • I bought the last 2 issues of Eating Well magazine. I really enjoyed them as they have a few articles but they contained mostly recipes and they show the nutritional value so it is easy to convert to points.
  • I got a weight watchers binder full of TONS of recipes at Costco!! It was about $20 Canadian!! I LOVE it!! I believe they are still carrying them, so if you have a membership check it out!
  • I will have to check that out! I think I saw that at Chapters but it was $39.95 and I wasn't willing to spend that much.
  • I found Weight Watcher's New Complete Cookbook at Costco recently. It's a GREAT book. We've made 1pt currant scones, 1pt chocolate-espresso-almond biscotti, and several of the dinners. They have all been fabulous so far!

I also like Weight Watcher's Simply The Best. It's an older book and it includes point values for "Winning Points". The Bella Braised Chicken is super easy and good and the tuna patties are great!
