Starting Weight Watchers 1/23

  • We are getting Weight Watchers at work starting on 1/23. In the mean time, I'm writing down everything I eat just to see where my issues might lie.

I eat out of boredom and stress. I am scheduling my physical with my dr. next week for some blood work. I am thinking that I'm close to being a diabetic. I've had blood sugar issues all my life, but never really crossed over into diabetes. I've put on 35 lbs in less than a year and don't exercise enough.

I'm having my dr. check my thyroid as well. I was on thyroid meds for a while last summer, but she took me off of them. To top it off, I'm officially menopausal. I'm 47 and frustrated.

Of all the people I know that have dieted and succeeded, weight watchers was the diet of choice. Especially those who have kept it off.

Hopefully, this time the weight will go for good. I'm not dieting, but getting healthy, something I've not been for a long time.

  • Welcome Amy!

Writing down your daily meals is a great way to get started. I found that helped me recognize certain patterns and bad habits that I had. I am a stress eater too and although I have gotten better at it I still have some work to do.

WW is a great plan since it teaches you how to eat better on a daily basis and make better choices, rather than just being a short term "diet".

    Good luck with your tests
  • Hi,
I'm starting WW tonight. It's a good idea to write down what you eat. I know I eat out of bordom and emotional issues. Good luck on your blood work and physical. I just had a baby 7 months ago and still trying to get that weight off. I just found out that my thyroid is too low. They are going to test it in 3 weeks. That alone can throw off your weight. Hope everything comes back good.

    Take Care,
