Relearned a lession ...

  • after eating out lunches for 1 week and making bad choices I gained 5 lbs!!!! I stepped on the scale this morning knowing I had gained but not knowing how much. Man, did I feel awful .
This is how I gained so much weight in the last 10 years, you'd think I would remember this each day pulling up to the drive thru of the various fast food restaurants but no ... I'll have the number 3 combo meal please.

Well, the happy ending to this story is that this morning I am OP again and I am determined to loose that 5 lbs and then some. Unfortuantly it had to happen this way but now I am remotivated to go on!

Thanks for listening! Have a great OP day!
  • You are so right!
After staying OP, not feeling deprived one bit, and loosing 19.5 lbs a couple of years ago, I remember telling myself, "if you'd just continue to eat salad for lunch every day, you wouldn't have a weight problem" but did I do it? No. This time I've got 30 to loose! Sigh!
  • Variety is the key
You can loose weight with W W without eating salad for lunch every day. You need variety so that you don't get tired of the program. If we eat the same thing all the time our body gets use to those foods, and we get bored bored bored. You need to fool your body with different foods. Shake things up. The important thing is to plan plan plan. Plan lunch for at least 3 days. (if lunch is your red light time of day) If those lunches work out you can repeat them another week. Eliminate the ones that don't fly. Then plan another three days. You just build from there. Spread your points out throughout the day. Maybe mini meals would work for you. Light breakfast, snack mid morning, light lunch, snack mid afternoon, supper and treat later in the evening. Eating out in fast food or sit down restaurants is the hardest thing for me. I limit them to special treats and plan ahead. If you know you overdid it at a special lunch, have W W soup for supper. There are ways to make the program work for you.
  • Thanks ...
Some things are so simple yet why don't we get them until they are in black and white? I have never thought about planning my meals the way you suggested to see the result of it. I.E. - If the meal is satisfying use it again if it's not maybe that's not a good meal choice for me. Thanks for making me think - every little bit helps.
  • It is never too late to do the right thing!
    Krislee,

If we learn from our mistakes, they are not really mistakes. My daughter is a manager in a popular chain restaurant. If only people could see how this food is prepared....all the hidden calories "snuck in".

However, eating out once in awhile won't hurt if we stay within points and stay moderate.

    Keep it going!
  • I think its reallie cool that you have that mindset. I remember that when i used to mess up that would be it, it would be over for me cuz i messed up so why bother. I remember that attitude well. I think its awesome how you don't think like that! excellent for you! Sometimes I have to talk myself out of that mindset again its a good feeling that if i screw up i can forgive myself. And I'm proud ofyou for forgiving yourself too

  • When you break a vase.......
...you don't go through the house breaking all the other vases.

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT

    All the best,

  • Falling Down
"Failure is not in falling down but in staying down!" This is the greatest quote. Remember it when you backslide.
  • Thank you for the nice encouriging words its very nice.
  • Good News...
I lost 6 lbs.!!! Believe me I know that's a lot to lose in one week but I should also tell you I went over my points range 75% of the time. I bulked up on fiber and water so I think a lot of that 6 lbs was water weight from the sodium infested (?) fast food I ate.

I am continuing to journal and stay OP - one day at a time.

    Thanks for all the support!
  • Krislee...what a great loss. One day at a time, you can conqueor this! Keep us posted!
