  • Good Morning Chickies!! Hope everyone had a nice, safe New Year's celebration. DH & I went to Lonestar Steakhouse for dinner at around 6:30. We were home by 8...just in time for the Giants game to start...romantic, huh? I struggled, but stayed up til midnight, toasted with some champagne and went to bed!

Today we're going to my Aunt's house, even though I really don't want to, I have soo much to do around here! Tomorrow we'll probably take down the Christmas tree and stuff, and plan our menu for the week.

HERE'S TO AN AWESOME, THINNER 2006!
  • Hello Everyone!

It's been a lazy day around here. We did take down the tree and put all the stuff away. My living room looks so bare now! I also went through Alex's clothes and packed away the stuff that's too little. Thank goodness for those XXL ziplock bags. Now if Cletus turns out to be a girl, everything is ready to drop off at the donation bins. Just drop off bag and all. I also packed away all of the crib bedding. I'm so torn. I want a GIRL, but I have all this BOY stuff! It would be so much cheaper to have a boy!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve!
  • Hey everyone! I've not been around too much lately. The kids are out of school for Christmas and dh is home cause company is on shutdown for the week. We've been spending lots of quality time and it's been great!!

I hope you all had safe and happy New Year's celebrations. DH and I had free tickets to the Motley Crue (yes I am a head banger ) concert in a suite. Free food and drinks all night. I had my share of beer (light does that count? lol). There were beef and chicken cabobs and cheese ravioli. I had one chicken and one beef cabob. I mostly stuck with the veggies though!! I had to pat myself on the back for that one! Well I am still a little tired so I am going to veg on the couch. Have a great evening everyone!!
  • Happy New Years all!

I lounged around all day. The most activity that I did all day was doing up the few dishes for my mom. Now that everything is done and over with, I plan on really being tough on myself. My sechedule for next semester does not seem as daunting as the last one, so hopefully I will do better.

Molly, was Motley Crue in Toledo? I did not hear about them coming to town, and even though it is not my style of music I think I would have. (I listen to country)

Lauren, I too struggled to stay awake til midnight, however it was not becasue I was tired, it was from boredom. I watched TVLand's 100 most surprising moments on tv and then turned it over for the ball drop. I was going to go out to my old stomping grounds, they were going to drop a copy of the schools mascot down at midnight, however it was only going to be dropped two stories, and I didn't have anyone to go with.

  • Good Morning!!!
Well...we stayed at home also but it was fun...We went to N.O. yesterday to the zoo and the French Quarter..Had a nice time..It was great to see it crowded and the street performers out..K had to dance with all of them..But once U pass the 17th Street Canal where the levee broke, it was the same as a month ago..What a sad contrast--Cleanup will take over a year and then with hurricane season again next year, who knows...

Ok--serious on the diet again..My resolution is to diet and excercise and finish my scapbooks..I ordered the pics(digital camera) and have started arranging to put in the pages..I have to loose 20lbs before summer...I just cant get motivated...
    Have a great one all!!!
Back to work tomorrow...I like these 4 day work weeks!!!

  • Hi Everybody!

Happy New Year 2006!! Hard to believe it's 2006 already! WOW! We stayed home and had a big bonfire.. WE had a blast time. We had a chicken/sausage gumbo along with few desserts. I got managed limited my eating on desserts. I drank one beer but drank lots of water after that. I went to bed after midnight. Here's the photo of fire. OH my.. the fire spreaded to the nearby tree and got on fire. I thought.. oh my.. I needed to call firemans..... LOL.. Glad it went out itself in few mintues later. Whew! That pile was filled with pine trees which it was knocked down by Hurricane Rita.

  • Hi Ladies!

Tricia, Wow, that's some fire!! Glad it went out and didn't spread!

Going to be a busy day at work today...haven't been here since before Christmas!
  • Good Morning Everyone,

Hope y'all had a wonderful day off yesterday. We went shopping for a couple specific Christmas things and found NOTHING. Ugh. We have three stockings with a big "K" embroidered on them (for our last name) that I got last year at the sales. I was looking for one for the baby. I was also looking for a tree topper and a tree skirt. Easy sounding stuff, but I guess we waited too late.

I weighed this morning and so far I am holding steady. Whoohoo. I'm taking that as a positive.
  • I am new here and just wanted to jump in and say hello!

I am actually 40 something, but only by a year or two, and there isnt a 40something club! Hope you dont mind me in here!

Anyway, I am one of those that has to struggle now and never did before. Just recently diagnosed with thyroid issues and having problems with weight but its much better since I got a higher level of meds to help. At least my metabolism is somewhat better. I have visited this site off and on for at least a year and thought well heck might as well join in on the fun!!

As I said I wanted to jump in and say hello.

    JustJuneBug ... Welcome aboard !!!
  • thanks for all the welcomes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Hello all. I haven't posted in awhile. Been busy looking for work and spending time with family for the holidays. I haven't weighed in since I lefted Vermont about a month ago, but I know I have gained. I haven't been eating the greatest. It's hard to ask for something special because I don't want my dad to go out of the way for me. Plus I have been down in the dumps which doesn't help my eating habits. I found out that my ex is probably going to try to have me sign away my rights to my oldest 2 children so his wife can adopt them. NO WAY!!!! There's no way that is going to happen. I would never do that. I have been here almost a month and I haven't been able to talk to them on the phone let alone see them. He thought I was just here for a visit but he was told I was staying.

My mother had called to tell him that I was in town and he told her to call him when I was gone because I wasn't going to see or talk to them. He is in for some big trouble when this goes to court. It isn't going to look good for him for not letting me see them. I love those kids so much. I wish I could tell you all about what a monster he is and some of the things I have found out that he has done to the kids. They are so scared of him they won't tell on him. He told them what goes on at home stays at home.

I am hoping for the best. I just want my kids to be happy and I know they would be happy away from him. They want to live with my parents. Hopefully, someday they will be able to live with me.

Oh gosh. I almost forgot to wish you all a belated Happy New Year. I am really going to get going on the weight loss again soon. I think if we can get jobs and live on our own that it will help me feel more settled. And I can start buying healthier foods again. Plus there's a women's gym here now so I am hoping that I'll be able to afford to go there. I should go and check my mail and keep looking for work. I have to go to the welfare office today to see what kind of help we can get. Wish me luck. I really hope this is a good year.

Hugs to all. Keep up the good work ladies.

    Annie
  • I actually did well over the holidays. I was off work since Dec 22nd and basically did exercise every day, and stayed away from sweets and starches.

Back at work today, 1st day, but leave tomorrow for skiing in Steamboat. Did find a gym there that only costs $10 a day and hope to go at least twice!

And as long as I can keep the beers to a minimum I will be thankful.
