WW in Australia

  • Anyone following weight watchers in Australia???? Comparing the websites between countries, it is very different over here than the Canadian/ American programs!!!

    Nola.
  • hey from New Zealand
Hey I'm in New Zealand. I figure that the plan we have here is probably similar to what you are doing there.
If you want a buddy I would be happy to keep in touch.
  • Yay!!! My friend is a lifetime member in Canada and when I read through her stuff while I was there this summer, it was very different.... I think the points are calculated differently!! Good to know that it is not generic throughout the world I guess.

I would love to be your buddy!!!

    Nola.
  • Cool
    be happy to buddy up.
I've joined in some of the challenges too, just to keep motivated.
  • I've noticed that too I actually have picked up some great recipes from both the Australian and UK WW sites.

My parents are Scots living in Canada so I'm used to eating certain foods that aren't as popular here and I have been trying to find recipes for healthier versions.

Gee if only they would make a fat free Battenburg cake
  • Nola It's so funny I found your post. Only a couple of minutes ago, as I was checking out this board and the recipes, I was thinking exactly the same thing. I just purchased a few items from the NZ/Aus WW shop this morning. I'd be happy to buddy up too if that's okay.

I've just read your journal. I was in Aus over Xmas/New Year and found it very hot indeed, being a soft NZer!!! Good luck with achieving all the goals you've set this year and getting into your Joe Rockets. When I read you'd been wearing your thongs for a few days I had to remind myself you were talking about jandals, not g-strings, LOL. Sorry to hear about your Dad. What part of Canada were you from (see my post to Mauvaisroux)? I am also a boredom/ emotional eater. At the WW store this morning I bought a book called Don't Eat your Feelings (or something like that). Hopefully it helps.

Chaarli Hi fellow NZer. Which part are you from? I'm in Christchurch.

Mauvaisroux What part of Canada are you from? I was born in Moncton, New Brunswick but came to NZ when I was 2 and have never been back. My Mum is Canadian and goes back every couple of years to visit family. I'd love to see Canada one day - a white Xmas is my alltime dream experience, although I'm sure the novelty of snow would only last a moment or two.
  • I'm from Ottawa, Ontario. My mum's from Hamilton, Scotland (although there is a Hamilton, Ontario too) and my Dad is from Glasgow.

You would love the snow! I can't imagine Christmas without it. I do have to admit by that mid-March you are sick of it and longing for spring

I have searched the net for low-fat Scottish recipes and found nothing - in fact I have the funny feeling that my computer was secretly laughing at me while I was typing the words into the search engine
  • There's also a Hamilton in NZ. We have the odd bout of snow here (although more further South on heaps on the mountains for skiing) but usually it's only a couple of inches and disappears within a day or so. BBQ and beach weather never really feels like Xmas.

Good luck finding some recipes. I've tried haggis, but probably not the real deal.
