Trying to Lose Weight for Wedding...need a Buddy!

  • Hi! I am getting married in March and desperatley want to lose weight....but not just for the wedding. I have struggled with my weight for a long time and I really need motivation and support. I want to be healthy and energetic and am ready for a change. In desperate search for a buddy!
  • Hi there! I'm fairly recently married myself (May '05), but now trying to get off weight from having a baby! I totally sympathize, though & would be happy to buddy with you Feel free to check my profile & get to know some more about me... Good luck! How much are you aiming to lose, btw?
  • Hi! I haven't decided yet how i'm going to go about losing the weight. I saw a Nutritionist and I think that I'm going to watch my calories and exerices at least 5 days a week. How are you going about it? Any suggestions?

Watching calories certainly doesn't hurt, but I find it kind of hard to keep up with calories (especially on those special eating out days). And, if you can keep up with working out 5 days a week, you go girl! I suggest starting a little bit easier & not so gung-ho or you're going to burn out fast! Maybe start with 2-3 days of workout & on other days you can see if you can fit in some walking. I am currently going about it by way of South Beach diet & working out whenever I can. I have lost 7 lbs. since Dec. 12th, so I'm doing something right! I love the South Beach diet...the 1st 2 weeks are hardest, but then you become accustomed to it. The key is to stock up on plenty of things allowed in Phase 1 (like veggies & nuts for snacks), and get rid of the no-no items. Out of sight...out of mind! I work out a bit more sporatically than you're going to be able to because I have a newborn & work 6 days a week, but I'm a massage therapist, so you could consider my job a partial workout. Hope that helps! OH- and if you decide to do South Beach, pick up the recipe book as well as the main one because they have some YUMMY recipes that don't make you feel cheated out of food!
