Restaurants

  • Hi, I'm new here, but I was wondering if there are any websites that give nutritional information, specifically on carb counts for popular restaurants. I've found some that give WW points, but they don't always state carb amounts. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
  • Sorry, but I do not know of any.

When we go out I try to order steak and I ask them to hold the potato or rice and just give me veggies.
For example tonight we went to a steak house, I ordered the small filet mignon and had it with broccoli, no fries and a salad with blue cheese dressing and a cup of decaf.
Now Italian restaurants are usually a challenge. So I usually just order shrimp scampi.
Any other place I'll try to have grilled fish of some kind.
Just stay away from the bread, pasta, potatoes, and desserts.
  • Good Answer!
The only thing I could add is to use the Corine Netzer Carb counter book, it has a lot of listings.

And all the fast food places have full nutritional info if you ask for it. KFC roast chicken and coleslaw drained(the mayo is sweetened) Boston Market with steamed veggies garlic green beans (skip the corn bread). And any burger place, rip off the roll!
  • The best table of nutritional information concerning fast food restaurants is on the home page for 3FC. Just select fast food guide and wa-la you can choose from several popular fast food places.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I'm not too new to low carb. I've been on Atkins since April 1 and have lost 18 lbs. My question was geared more for real restaurants, not fast food. I'm aware of the whole meat, salad and veggie routine. I was actually craving some coconut shrimp from Outback! That was the real reason behind the question. I was wondering if there were any websites like some I've seen for WW giving point counts for different foods.

Anyway, didn't do the coconut shrimp. Had lamb chops and salad and snow peas instead. So all is not lost! I'm sure the carb count is probably outrageous anyway.
  • I would like to know some info also.
Uually when I eat out I probably eat more carbs than I should.
