I know that I need to look up and reread about labels in my book. But, my coworker brought this in and I wanted to see how bad this product is for phase 2

"Cereal
Hot - 1/3 -1/2 cup, uncooked. Choose whole grain and slow-cooking varieties (no instant types).
Cold - 30 grams/1 ounce/3/4 cup. Varieties with 3.0 - 4.9 grams are “good” sources of fiber. “High” fiber cereals have 5.0 grams of fiber or more per serving. Choose a cereal with enough fiber to be at least on the upper end of “good,” and make sure it has less than 8 grams of sugar per serving. "
So it sounds like it would be fine.

I think it also depends on the source of sugar. I assume that with this cereal, it's probably nothing too terrible (like high-fructose corn syrup). It sounds pretty healthy!
DH has been eating Uncle Sam cereal, which is toasted whole grain wheat flakes and whole flaxseed. The stats per cup are: 190 calories, 5 g fat (0.5 g saturated, 0 trans), 0 cholesterol, 135 mg sodium, 36 g carb, 10 g fiber, less than 1 g sugars, and 7 g protein. Pretty sturdy stuff! I haven't tried it yet, since I don't really like cold cereal. I prefer McCann's steel-cut Irish oats. There is also an Uncle Sam cereal with mixed berried, which has freeze-dried strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries added to it, but he hasn't tried that. He says the cereal is kind of odd, but he likes it.
I like the Uncle Sam cereal as long as I put on chocolate soy milk-I use the soy slender ( I think it's called). I'm not a big fan of cereal but it makes a nice snack once in a while.

Hmmm, I don't think I could do chocolate and cereal together! When I eat cold cereal, I almost always eat it dry because I can't stand the taste of milk and it makes me ill to drink it. Soy milk probably wouldn't bother me like milk does, but I can't see the point. I don't like milk, so I'm not interested in a substitute.
