Happy Turkey Day

  • We will be gone over Thanksgiving and I just wanted to wish all of you and your families a wonderful day.

One thing I am grateful for is having this group for support on my weight loss journey. I just stopped my JC membership due to the changes in my diet and I will certainly miss the women I met there but some LL are still here so I can find out how they are doing.

It has actually cooled off here in Florida for the holiday....only 57 this a.m. as I type this....feels so GOOD. We will be in Ft. Lauderdale for a couple nights and a 2 night cruise to Nassau which all starts Thanksgiving Day so the weather over there is going to be high 70's which is perfect.

Do the best you can to stay OP but enjoy.

    Here's a group hug Phyllis
  • Thank you, Phyllis....Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well! Hope you have a great time on your cruise! I haven't been away on vacation in forever!!! I'm soooooo jealous!!!!

I'm in New York and its starting to get cold! We've had some pretty mild weather for this time of year, so I can't complain! However, today is turning out to be a pretty lousy day...its thundering and lightning out right now and so dreary!

I'm so glad I found this website and this group....this is only my second post, but I've been lurking around for a couple of weeks now and been reading through all the posts and they have helped me so much...you have all inspired me to DO this, I really look forward to going through this weight loss journey with you! Thank you!

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

    Fran

Cappy -- welcome to the group! It is always nice to have more people!!!
  • Welcome Fran! Nice to have you!
Phyllis~ Happy Thanksgiving to you too. And may you stay safe and enjoy your vacation.
Anita and everyone else ~ Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks be to God.

    Have a wonderful day!
  • Happy Turkey Day all! I am cooking my very first turkey in my new house! I am excited! It seems pretty easy. The directions are a no brainer, but I think I need to eat breakfast and get started because I also have a lunch thanksgiving I need to go to as well as mine tonight. So I will have to really watch what I eat.

Welcome Fran glad to have ya.

I am very thankful for you all here too. Very inspiring and I feel close to all of you. Thanks especially Donna for staying close ( when I worked at home) it means a lot to have close friends on the same journey.

    Hugs
  • Oh I am also bringing my own small plate to eat off of. And whatever fits on that plate is it - no seconds. Because I have two dinners I am trying to limit the calorie intake.
  • Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I am not cooking-we are going to my father's. He lives in an assisted living place that provides dinner...it is really nice cause he can have guests...so we are all going there in their special dining room. I will miss the left over turkey soup I make...but then I won't miss the clean up!!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Dani...that is a great idea bringing a smaller plate!
  • I did really well on my portions! My husband said last night oh I am sooo stuffed! I said I'm not I'm full but not stuffed. It was my first thanksgiving where I didn't fill like I was going to explode!

Except I missed my snacks and my water intake was extremly low!

I gained one pound off of turkey day.
