What are your biggest tips for having a POP day?
(I don't know if I can start a poll, or if this has been done before, but I havn't had a POP day and I'm really curious on how you do it.)
I don't keep foods I can't eat in the house anymore. I knwo that is a lot easier for me since I don't ahve a large family, but it does work. If I don't have it, I can't eat it.
I also only buy healthy choice foods for myself and family. My kids snack on things that are good for them and things I can have too. I also swear by planning ahead and knowing what I can have all day from the get go.
I carry a little notebook in my purse and I will sit down a day or two in advance and plan out everything I am going to eat for the next two days. Then if I happen to make changes I can do that in the notebook and keep my journal nice and tidy. This helps me to just keep in my head what I am eating and its easier to follow.
It also helps to learn what works for you and what doesn't. I like to keep in mind that I can drink ls v8 and get my veggies in or 100% natural not from concentrate fruit juice or popsicle for a fruit. Sunflower seeds on a salad have helped me many times get protien in. I also get my 4 or 5 water bottles out for the day (I use ice) and i can instantly see how much water I have left for the day. If I think of more I'll let you know.
It gets easier!

I think for me, it's practice, practice, practice - and having as much control over my environment as I can - if I'm going out with friends - I try to make sure there's an extensive menu so I can find something to eat. I've found the choices that work for me - I tend to shop and eat on a weekly basis, so I look at the sales papers and then plan around that.
For me - my cooking has changed over time - instead of making a big pot of spaghetti, or a pan of lasagne, I make a whole lot of chicken breasts. . .It was not easy -- but for the carby type stuff - I've switched to the HC/LC frozen meals because they are portion controlled.. .and I don't have to deal with leftovers.
