Frayed nerves - comfort foods - way over

  • Well my nerves are toast. I am a wreck from worrying about our business and all the financial that goes with that. I was up at 5am this morning with my mind going a hundred different directions

Had a BAD weekend and did the comfort food thing Sat and Sunday
Ham supper one night and roast beef etc on Sunday so I am WAY WAY WAY over my reg and flex pts for the week.

so back to the program today and hope it didn't derail me too much

Just really need to find some calm in my life!!!!

  • Why would those 2 meals set you over your points? Just wondering because I regularly have ham and roast beef and it is a meal that is very point friendly.

So next time instead of reaching for the food go for a walk, put your headset on with a good tape/CD or an audio book and just walk. Exercise is the best stress releiver there is.

There is another thing couples can do that is great for relieveing stress
  • Yes it can be very pt friendly as long as you don't have the mashed potatoes, butter, gravy etc. Yorkshire pudding, saskatoon pie, etc etc

then the bowls of soup at Tim Hortons both days with the rolls and butter!!!

And the few drinks on Fri and Sat nite

so no it was not a great weekend, I am officially over my pts for the week by 28 but oh well I needed a break and took it

Now it is back to program and concentrating on eating properly

I have always been the type that as long as I could cook a great meal etc then the stress was so much better

  • Walking is a great stress reliever but unfortunatley we got our first blast of winter with snow, ice and fog this weekend also so have to come up with some indoor activities!!

  • i relate......
at the moment my nerves are fried also and its hard not diving in!
  • O.K. so you went off program and that's the end of it. Get back on track today, you can do it! I know how hard stress can be on your commitment to yourself. I have let it take over a time or two. (or 3) You need to talk it all out with someone, your SO or a close friend so it is not on your mind when you go to bed every night. And you need to find a little time just for you so you can take a deep breath and relax. I am in Edmonton if you ever feel like talking to someone new we could meet for coffee sometime and just forget about the garbage.
  • Thanks Ladies

Yes it is just a mind over matter thing.
Get back on track and get with it.

    Crazy lives we lead!!!!
