beginning of a new day! :cheer:

  • Hey everyone!

    So I decided to start journaling! Let me introduce my self a bit. I am 25 and a two time cancer survivor. My most recent bout was this past dec 2004 with leukemia. I underwent a stem cell transplant in March 2005 (my brother-my hero- was the donor, a perfect match). I have been cancer free for 10months now (and WILL BE for a long time to come ) Before I got sick I was an avid fitness buff, a fitness trainer and on my way to being a teacher, but naturally all that had to be put on hold while I RECOVERD!!!!! LOL so.... I am now strating to get back into shape...after a very long hiatus! Its tough and This time the motivation is lacking so I came here for everyone's support. For me this is something I have to do for health (not looks as it once was, even though that is a bonus), as we all know a fit lifestyle keeps you healthy (most of the time) . so there you go, a little about me!

    Today's workout!

    Legs and abs
    Squat: 5 sets of 10-15
    Leg press: 5 sets of 10
    dead lift: 4 sets of 15
    Leg extention: 3 sets of 15 (light)
    leg curl: 3 sets of 15
    seated calf press: 3 sets of 15

    Diet:
    BF= 1 low fat muffin, juice, multi-vit and H2O
    Lunch=subway six inch sub with veggies, chicken strips and mustard and H2O
    dinner= Pasta and veggies with chicken

    snack=nonfat vanilla latte from secondCup
    so thats it for today!
  • Congratulations on your survival! And your brother is indeed a hero!! Looking forward to seeing more of you here.
  • congratulations

    I hope to see more of you here, and good luck with your goals. Just make sure you don't overdo it.

    Ditto - except that I hope to see less of you...pounds-wise
  • Thanks you so much for the warm welcome!

    Sorry I have not been on here for a while, have been having "issues" in the "female" department...so naturally due to my history, I THINK THE WORST...got it all checked out but of course the results are not immediate so I am playing the waiting/worrying game. and the doc sent me for a pregnancy test... It would be a miracle if my parts were still working...oh well can't think about it all, cuz its not going to help...

    Anyway, have made it to the gym two days this week, no cardio but weights. I have a bit of a cold so decided not to push my body too much. Eating has been so so...HALLOWEEN KILLS ME too much chocolate around...i am going to have to figure out a way to AVOID it over christmas...or atleast figure out a method to stop myself (any ideas?)

    so thats it really on the fitness front, hope everyone is sholding up ok hope you have a wonderful day!!!!

  • Congratulations to you on your success at beating the cancer... and big congrats to your brother!
  • Hey all!
    Wow I have not posted for a long time on this thread! Currently, I have not done well in the exercise department, but eating is not too bad. I had a dizzy spell two weeks ago at the gym...I don't know why! So ever since then I have either done some weights at home or nothing at all...I am really lacking motivation, or is it that I am just scared? hmmmm... Anyway, jus wanted to touch base...

    so far today I have eaten:
    BF-1 packe of oatmeal with 1 scoop protein powder and a coffee, plus my pills with water
    L- chicken sandwich, ff mayo, tomato, lettuce, 1 bottle of water and coffee
    S-clementine, water
    D-Salad, Chicken, peas/veggies

    So yup that is it...I will post again...promise!
