core and cravings

  • Hey Ladies,
so I've been doing core for a while and losing! Its been great, I've felt better, I've hanv't been tempted to much to snack on badstuff. This weekend, I had a slip up, I ate some twizzlers, I used my WPA but it was the first time I had a real sugar treat since I had started. Since then, I am craving all the stuff that is non core. I was so excited to feel like I was craving free for a while but now I wonder, do I have to not eat sugary stuff at all? I kind of feel like i need to go through a detox, like when people mess up on SouthBeach, they start back at phase one but we don't have phases.
What do you guys do and how do you deal with cravings?
    thanks,
    Jennie
  • i just use wpa's for treats so no cravings. if i want something i eat it
  • Jennie, if I eat too much sugar it starts up the cravings for me. I pretty much use my WPA's for bread and smart balance margarine. I've been trying to avoid the processed sugar. Everyone is different but it sounds like sugar is a red light trigger for you that maybe you want to try to avoid.
  • BACK AWAY FROM THE SUGAR! says a confirmed sugar addict I also was very unaware of my sensitivity to sugar prior to this plan and have learnt it can be my downfall. While some can deal with a little sugar I need to be extra careful and vigilant.

If I have a little sugar I start wanting more and more...and well you know the rest. I need to remember that to stay on plan and "craving-free" I need to be very aware of any sugar I put into my mouth. I therefore am a huge fan of sf products which can help when and if required!

    Good luck.

  • Although I can eat sugary foods and count them in as WPAs, I find it more difficult to stay on Core when I do that. I think it's a trigger I don't need because I hate to have to fight to get back to the non-craving status I had. We're all different, but I have always done bettter eating more protein and less simple sugars.
