  • Hi Skinny. I think you've made the first step in coming here. I would take some time to surf the site and plan your strategy. Do you know what your weaknesses are? For example.......do you have a sweet tooth? are you a big carb eater? when do you over eat? what sets you off?
Knowing yourself and how emotionally attached you are to certain foods could be a red flag and might signal that you need to stay away from those foods.

What goals, both physically and health wise do you want to achieve?
The next step would be how do you want to accomplish those goals? Be very honest and straightforward with yourself. If you say you are going to work out 7 days a week and then only work out twice a week, well you are setting yourself up for failure. Slow and steady wins the race!! No one puts on weight (alot of it anyways) over night, so the slower you lose the weight .....the better. I find taking the 'emotion' out of it and putting down a plan that is measurable; very success oriented. Start with a few changes, then a week later do a few more. Work your way to success with good choices and behaviours.

There is alot of excellent information on this site concerning diets, excercise, recipies and motivation. Do some soul searching and then jump in with both feet!!! WELCOME to the site!!!
  • well W/W is a pay program however after the first phase of SouthBeachDiet it is very much like the Core Arm. You can pick up the book at most libraries for free. Once you read it and learn it you can do it without the book.

Is there a way you can afford $15 a month for W/W online (I am not sure what the registration fee is) or can you afford to look into the at home version (somethign like $100 but you get everything you need).

Making the decision is the first step and once you hear the 'click' in your mind you won't let anything derail your efforts includnig costs/funds.

Another thing is many times you can get W/W information at ebay.

Also check into your local meeting place...for lowincome or special circumstances many of the places have a 'scholarship' fee which is much less each week than the normal fee. Go in and ask it can't hurt.
