Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to the site and very new to this forum. I was just wondering if there was anyone who uses walking as their main method of exercise? I've been walking 6 days a week for the last 2 weeks. What do you guys do? How far/long? Any tips? Also, I'd love to hear some success stories. Can't get enough inspiration! Thanks in advance for responding and I appreciate your suggestions!
I used to walk longer (minimum 1 hour) daily - but the dog is getting old...now I break it up into 2-3 shorter (20-30 min) walks. I joined a gym (and get most of my cardio there now) - but my day would not be complete without making the dog dance by getting the leash out of the closet. He really is the most enthusiastic walking buddy a gal could have...plus i work in an office with no windows all day...gotta get some air!
Hi
I walked (and still try to) for 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week, at first it was fine but as i started to lose weight i had to start challenging myself more! like finding a hill or two! it does really well as long as you keep a balanced diet along with it!
I went from nearly 300 pounds to about 200 late last year with only walking, now though I am trying to get even fitter!!!(i kinda regained and gave up for a while!)
Start at what you are comfortable with (ie maybe 30 minutes ) and each week go a little further or faster! You will see steady results!
