No one in my family is ever on time...

  • Including my son. He was due Friday 9/23. And now I'm scheduled to be induced Monday 10/3. My daughter had to be induced as well. Babies must really like it in there.
  • Maybe you're just one of those women who carries her babies longer. I was something like three weeks late.
  • My 25 year old daughter has always been late, two weeks to being born, took 7 years to graduate from college. My 21-year-old twins were on time and will graduate on time. I think it sets a precedent!
  • I'm sorry for you! My daughter wanted out at 30 weeks and I was thankful when they let her come out at 37 weeks. I hope you are as comfortable as you can possibly be! Good luck on your induction, if you last that long!
  • I'm sure I will last that long...at least pregnancy-wise. However with the backache, hipache, ribache, unable to lie down comfortably, sit comfortably problems....uhhh, what were saying about being comfortable? LOL I think he wants to come out, it's just my body doesn't cooperate. I don't dialate. I've dialated to 2 1/2 cms in 5 weeks time. At this rate, he'd be in there until January before I'd fully dialate. I'm sure he'll wait clear up to the induction Monday.

Both my brother and I were late as well. So it must run in the family. I had thought this one would be early since he's been so completely different from my daughter, but it's not him, it's my body. So in that respect, they have no control over when they come out apparently.
  • Best of luck to you! I hope it all goes well.

My cousin (she's 35 now) was overdue but back then they didn't do inductions much. I think she must've been pretty overdue though 'cause she came out with very long hair & fingernails and had three teeth already poked through! eeek. And she's always been a big old brat and very tall & big.

The baby really is in control, huh?! Well there must be a good reason for it I guess. Maybe it's a really, really smart baby and knows things are much better in there.
