  • While I was on the highway today, I suddenly thought: "I've lost 41 pounds -- how much FOOD is that?!"

So when I got home tonight, I did a little research and some math and thought up a little game for us. It's TOTALLY unscientific, and I know it doesn't actually work this way, but it's kinda fun. PS: I hope my formula isn't wrong! Math really isn't my thing, so please correct me if I've calculated this wrong!

    Directions:
    1. pick a food that you used to eat alot.
    2. search the web to see the calories for that food (take note of serving size).
    3. multiply the pounds you've lost times 3500 to come up with the total CALORIES you've burned to lose your weight.
    4. divide total calories burned by calories for your chosen food.
    5. Viola! You've burned that much food!

    Here's mine:
    1. 1 cup of Peanut M&Ms
    2. 877 calories (YIKES!!!)
    3. 41 (lbs lost) x 3500 (calories in a pound) = 143,500 calories
    4. 143,500/877 = 163.6 cups

I've burned off 163.6 CUPS of Peanut M&Ms!!!

    That is DISGUSTING!
  • I love it. Thanks for the laugh after a long day.
  • LOL...how many POUNDS of Peanut M&Ms do you think that is? I'm getting a headache from trying to figure it out.
  • How about over 14 gallons of pralines and cream ice cream.

Or almost 23 14" stuffed crust pepperoni lovers pizzas from Pizza Hut.

Or walking 656 hours about 1640 miles!!

    That is fun!
  • LOL, Susan...you inspired me to do some Pizza Hut math, too!

I've burned off more than 55 cheese pizzas!

Actually, what's even scarier is that I had to eat the equivalent of 55 pizzas to reach 189 lbs. If THAT'S not motivation for maintenence, I don't know what is!

    =
  • Hee. This is SUCH a good idea, Kate!

Look out girls, I have lost 578 snickers bars!

...and, since we're crunching numbers, that's about 192 feet of candy bars, laid end to end.

...which is, unless my math has totally left me...about 64 yards, or almost 2/3 of a football field worth of chocolate!!!

    That is SO gross!
  • I have burned off 185,500 kcals!

That's 185.5 hours of kickboxing practice!

That's 1131 cups of cottage cheese!

    96.5 14" pepperoni pizzas

    1066 creme eggs

    9275 jelly babies!
  • They did something like this on The Biggest Loser last season...they had all the weight they had lost in the form of their favorite food standing by a lifesize cardboard cutout of them at their starting weight.
  • Heh. I've lost 97 boxes of Kraft White Cheddar Mac'n'Cheese!
  • 105 Sonic Coney Dogs
    2333 slices of bacon
130 Large Bags of McDonalds Fries
    438 Tacos

    I can't stop!!

And finally 60 Cups or ~4 Gallons of Ranch Dressing

Thanks , this was fun !!
  • 108 Twix bars PLUS 220 Cokes AND 379 String cheeses (or equivalent in queso fundido)

Sadly, that's probably pretty close to what I actually did cut out
  • Thought provoking, encouraging and gross all at once.. LoL.. thank you for posting this.
  • Ooooh fun! I wanna play!

    All together I've lost:

96 pints of Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Health Bar Crunch
    +
    637 Cadbury Crème Eggs
    +
    968 Reeses Peanut Butter Cups
    +
    464 Almond Snickers
    +
792 Toll House chocolate chip cookies
    +
    616 chocolate chunk brownies

or… 8,313 of my new favorite healthy snack, Blue Bunny Lite 85 black cherry yogurt!

    How cool, thanks Kate!!

    Beverly
  • I'm getting craving from reading this thread
Kate, you and I seem to have the same trigger food!

    Mel
  • Quote: 96 pints of Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Health Bar Crunch
LOL, Beverly...one of my FAVORITES!! I loooove B&J's!!

Mel, here's another one of my trigger "foods" (not really food, but a trigger nevertheless):

I've burned off 925 cans of Coke!

The really scary thing is that given my old habit of drinking 3 - 5 cans of Coke A DAY, I would have consumed 925 cans of Coke in UNDER A YEAR!!

Holy cow! <--- LOL, with the being ME!!
