I need a friend :)

  • Okay guys heres the story...I am nearly 24 years old and am getting married next September. I want to lose 35 pounds and tone up but cannot seem to find the discipline to do so. I exercise sporadically and meetign eating habits are just as random. I think I need someone to be accountable to. I have tried another forum here and it worked as long as I remeber to come here!
Anyway any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
  • Join in our September challenge. It is a great way to stay accountable for your exercise. I did the August one and exercised over 1700 minutes! It helped me lose weight for my wedding goal. I surpassed my goal by one pound. That is the best thing I have found for helping me make sure to at least get in a 20 minute walk each day.

    Good luck and welcome!
  • Welcome! there are a ton of people on here to help keep on track, Im just getting abck there myself! good luck!
  • Welcome!!!
Remembering to check out the forums keeps me on track too.
  • Hi there. I am getting married too, have about the same to lose. I don't know my wedding date for sure, but I am thinking less than a year. These boards have helped me so much. And like Meredith said, the September challenge is a great way to keep acountable. I look forward to adding my exercise everyday! I also write down what I eat, which makes me very aware (I count calories too). Good luck! Hope to see you around!
  • Thanks guys! I knew I would find support here..I have decided to give my slef plenty of time to do this since my goal is actually to have it lost my the wedding. That way I do nto feel discoruaged...
  • Congrats to all you brides to be! (And there are a lot of you)!
  • good to have you...lean on us as much as you need to
  • My best advice is to come here and talk! The ladies here are great, and keep me on track... I have never lasted in a diet / exercise thing as long as I have while here (One month! lol) It's a great form of support!
  • i agree
  • Okay so I lost a pound (woo hoo!) 1 pound is better than no pounds!
  • Good start Laura...keep it goin'. Remember not to feel discouraged if you see others on this board losing at a quicker pace...many of us (myself included) have a lot more to lose! The cool thing you've got going is that there is less difference in pant sizes in smaller sizes than in larger sizes (i.e. I had to lose 30 lbs to go from a tight size 20 pants to a comfortable size 16, where as you'll probably go down a pant size after another 10-12 lbs). Congrats girl...here's to a healthier you...and soon enough, a smaller you!
